Actually I don't remember any consultation - what I do remember is 4 months of secret meetings, where it was vital to keep everything a secret and that nothing will be revealed until EVERYTHING HAS BEEN AGREED - well everything still hasn't been agreed and to drop a pile like this on the membership :no no . TBH if they have to ask the membership why they reject the deal they shouldn't be representing us in the first place - a workplace apprentice could tell them the flaws.

dingo wrote:Look a lot have been said about rejecting the deal and how much someone is losing.

Well look if you reject the deal , you have no pay rise and no supplement and no thousand pounds, no improvement in mtsf , no process for dealing with mail centre or rdc closures , no process for dealing with standards , or geo route , no process for dealing with later saturdays. However you might for a time get your 1.67 door to door items ( not sure for how long )

However if you accept the deal lets have look at what you recieve inclusive of the supplement your pay will go up from £347.61 to £393.73 in the third year. Thats an increase of £46.21 for national rate,. Spare me the spin about the third year as it was the union who asked for the review just in case inflation had gone up and the pension blackhole had been sorted.

For outer London the increase will be £50.68 and for inner London it will be £52.35.

In addition you will get the thousand pounds for introducing two revisions including the walk sequencing revision. You will also get two years of the colleague share money. Again spare me the spin that this is our money as it was always dependent of the financial state of the company. If this plan does not go ahead then the future of Royal Mail will be in question not in a way of bankrupcy etc but it cannot survive without government assistance if this plan does not go ahead .

It's not about and has never been about money! Yes a bloody pay rise would be nice especially with no strings like unlimited delivery spans! We are only human! Not robots or machines! Our bodies will get aches and pains and we will get tired!

Now i know things have moved on but what the hell was objective was it status quo or even a pay rise or just sod it and let royalmail deal with it we made our point (CWU) because that is what it sounds like to me!. :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad
Sorry forgot to add was it too much of an inconvenience for NEW LABOUR and billy's big seat!.

we know what were losing and what were also expected to deal with with workloads etc
Earthy but concise.
You could look at this situation from a different perspective.
What do you think the reaction would be if you turned up for work and your Dom said "ok folks for the good of us all, we will make 24,000 job cuts, you will get a 1.9 % pay cut and we will stop paying for D2D forthwith on top of your pay cut,oh and you might get 9 or more D2D a week and 100% call rate on a saturday but don't worry cos your duty time will end at 3pm + flex + banked hours. Everybody happy?"

im so sorry people.,i havnt read the whole thread ,i was to incensed by the drival spewed forth by dingo.

utter rubbish on nearly every point.

but lets start with these agreements hes harpping on about.

we have agreement now that have never been honoured so whats going to change?

geo route was supposed to be brought in with union the walk holder and royal mail manager working together on the route.made sence .but nobody exept the manager and our supervisor was involved.it was supposed to be reviewed after three mounths ,it never was .
can you imagine what will happen now that they have removed the max delivey span..

how long do you think a 65 year old can walk at an AVERAGE of 4 mph carry sacks or pushing a trolley.

this whole deal is mentally retarded .worst of all ,are the branch reps who needed to be told what to think before they commented.

I, along with 53 of my workmates will lose out with this agreement.
45 of them get ESA
All of them deliver to more than 400 delivery points
All of them deliver 2 or more D2D every week except Christmas pressure and holidays

2 at our office will gain £20.60 but will lose their early Saturday finish along with the rest of us.
We will all lose out to the health risks that this agreement brings with it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

MORE LIES.if you reject you get to keep your present wage, until further talks have finished.their will be further talks because a rejection means the threat of more strikes.we already know that in london they didnt even honour the interim deal .if agreed then potentail for massive profits means vastly more chance of privatisation sooner(the name of the game who ever wins the election)

wait three years for a PAY RISE..WHOOPY FRICKIN DOO)

ROYAL MAIL ALREADY DOULBED LAST YEARS PROFITS IN THE FIRST SIX MONTHS.SO YOUR SHARES SHOULD ONLY GO UP
dingo wrote:Moreover the deal also includes a shorter working week worth 2.5 % for part timers. It also includes improvements in MTSF , protection of full timers when automation is being introduced, a process for dealing with mail centre enclosures, door to door into workload which means the employer has to put into workload and factor hours in on prep and over the ground time. An agreement on standards which we have never had apart from in mail centres, and an agreement on geo route, an agreement process which commits Royal Mail to 1 in 4 Saturdays off and with union involvement all through it and that delivery duties must take stress, fatigue, and safety into account when they agree duties.
AGAIN MORE LIES.THIS IS HOPE MORE THAN GUARENTEED.IT DOESNOT SAY IT WILL JUST WE HOPE..

Well in my opinion its a no brainer.
dingo wrote:]Whats the alternative ? Go out and then consult again with members to see why they reject the agreement and then start negotiating again, in the mean time Royal Mail will simply push on with change and attack where they think they wont get any resistance normally the places with the most part timers

You are right and if someone had reported it as we keep asking then I could have dealt with it quicker. :arrrghhh

Just seen Postman's post so people were lucky to not get a ban instead of just a warning. Perhaps we should just ban people in fact for the next 24 hours anyone using any form of abuse that I spot and its posted after this post gets a ban, after all gentle warnings, PMs, board warnings, posts being amended or deleted does not seem to work lets see if Temp Bans do.

This 39 hours week that's 'worth' 2.5% why not keep us at 40hrs and just give us the 2.5%? Then it would be worth real money!
