Probably 2% - then again 2% of £100,000 is quite a wedge - still it's only about 5 times what we earn, course they aren't losing £12 to begin with.

Come on Dvbuk my old friend, you accuse me of scraping the barrel with Tman and now here you are caught teaming up with someone who has no right to even have a say on the deal.

You are better than that.

No right to a say lovejoy?
El-Careto is a potential member.
If membership levels continue to plummet it may pay to be a little nicer to him. :hmmmm :chuckle

He has no right to a say because this is a ballot of CWU members and he is not one. End of debate.

If he becomes one in the future then he will have a say in the future.

My point stands.

Can I just jump in - El Cartero should be allowed an opinion on the proposed deal unfortunately as he is not a member of the Union his opinion is largely irrelevant. Having the right to say something on the deal is different to whether is relevant or not, after all even my Great Aunt has an opinion on the offer, but her opinion is irrelevant.

The trouble is TBT his post was nothing to do with an opinion on the agreement. It was a snipe about CWU HQ when he is not even a member.

I agree - El Cartero is a shotgun poster - he starts threads randomly and without thought. He changes his mind on subjects sometimes from one post to the next. He complains about stuff in his job and does nothing to resolve them despite getting advice and encouragement on here.

My main reason for posting my comment was not to back up El Cartero but to point out that everyone is allowed an opinion but only those that can actually vote on the deal/issues in question, have an relevancy.

I understand but I have a real issue with non-members who mouth off. They piggy back off the benefits that members gain and then when something happens they don't like then they play the hard done by cut out of the loop routine.

Then maybe the solution would be for us all to try a little harder to convince non-members to join rather than dismissing them as irrelevant. :hmmmm

I would do everything possible to convince a non-member to join if I thought they were genuine.

Hang on a minute lads - I'm sure el cartero has no idea if they are due for a pay rise and I certainly haven't - I took it as a tongue in cheek posting and posted in the same vein myself.

Now as to his credentials to make comment on any subject whatsoever I would defend his right to do so whether he is a member of the union or not. potential member or not. He has quite freely stated that he is not a member, there may be many others posting on here who aren't members who express their opinion and it is not questioned. This is a forum, I may be a member of the Ferrari owners club Forum and copy and paste any old crap, not owning or knowing anything about Ferraris.

In any case it's a storm in a teacup, there's more pressing problems to contend with.

Their certainty is but too Bragg about it is unacceptable with those who pay for their say in our union but if he feels he could do a better job let him put his money where his mouth is!. If he can rant half as good in public after paying his due's he will go far very far!.
