Ernie and Banner if you think it is a good deal then by all means vote yes.
but the rest of your posts......... :hmmmm
If your offices really are that weak then be careful.
This agreement will throw weak offices to the wolves and working to your time won't save you. :cuppa

Now imagine a whole office full of people doing the job properly, with only 1 or 2 flyers. Would you ever fear if your duty was over its time after a revision? No, because everyone else covering would have the same problems as you. Would you ever fear about cutting off or claiming on a really heavy day? No, because countless others would be on the same day in the office.
If many of the duties were over there time and unmanageable, could the manager deny it or B&H enough people to make it fit? No, and they could not face away from the obvious, that more hours would be needed to ensure the USO.
I don't need to imagine it banner,it sounds quite like my office.
But in reality it DOES NOT stop managers attempting to fit a quart into a pint pot.
Members are never harrassed in a group, always on there own it's the RM management way.
We have had about 6 new managers in the last 3 years and every single one of them has said we need more hours.
And then every single one of them has gone on to cut more hours from the budget.
This is a savings and bonus driven business now banner and the old rules do not apply.
Especially if this "managers charter" is accepted.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

With regards to this comment,i fully understand why you would say this, but in London it was a completly different story.

If Dingo is looking in this thread he will be aware about Streatham and various other offices doing the job properly.

This has been the case with Watford as well and other offices around the country.

At my place when we done it,it was hell, trust me.

And this is where there is a big problem, bullying managers will make life hell for those who just want to get on.

Now there is only so many times in a week that i can put my arm (physically)around some of my colleagues to stop them breaking down when they are being bullied, threatend with pay stoppages when cutting off.

I kid you not with what i've posted.

Will things change with this new deal?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

These are still isolated cases though and even these have had justice done. There will always be rogues, both managers and postmen. But imagine the whole country working as such, if such a few can obtain justice, what about the majority working as such? Justice will happen naturally.
There are no excuses for us not to embrace this way of working now. Their bullys will fail against what is right. When you know you are right, you know it. You put effort into the time that you are paid for without breaking H&S or the law. Its easy and simple. I would fight them all the way, regardless of threats, pay or no pay.
