Re: Myths about the agreement
If this agreement is so good why is it taking so long to get the voting papers out????????????????
Why go round the country telling us how good it is????????????????????

I don't know anything about Tman, haven't seen his/her posts before. Just thought that previous comment was on the button.dvbuk55 wrote:Now you are scraping the bottom of the barrel lovejoy making a pact with tman - and did you know that I don't drink alcohol, that way my vision is never clouded in an alcoholic haze. As RMC proved in '07, vehemently-held views from some on here doesn't always mean that's the way the rank-and-file think.
I've got some other bits to contribute later but off for a few bank holiday ales 1st
Gave the ale a miss as didn't fancy it.
I asked if u were in the forces because you use the word officer a lot. It used to be commonly used in RM with reference to postal officers / delivery officers etc but I find in the main only ex forces people use it nowadays

Re: Myths about the agreement
Dingo, Dingo, Dingo, this deal is as bad for postal workers as the last two/three.
The CWU has completely lost it's way, and will lose me and my £156.52 if you and all the other senior bods have conned enough mugs to vote in acceptance of this "2010 and Beyond" shyte.
There will be one sure outcome from a YES vote, it will change forever the % of union members in the workplace. You will find yourself in discussions with your chums, discussing cutting costs, drastically. How ironic will that be, eh?

That is very good advice, have a feeling they'll ignore it though, good at that they are, ignoring their members.k979aaa wrote:Their will be no myth in this after this agreement that is being sold to us all the union will be finished!. Dingo
So the leadership of this Union are prepared to sell out members like me, who lost pay taking Industrial action for an agreement that would make me worst off. How can this be so? I look at what the leadership of this union get, about 100,000 and they have the effrontery to tell me it’s in the common good that I take a pay cut. I earn 18,000 a year. I be voting NO

Re: Myths about the agreement
Please don't interrupt big boys conversations tman - you don't have anything to do with deliveries, know nothing about them and stand only to gain from this agreement.
Maybe, but unfortunately my pay deals etc are linked in with deals delivery blokes vote on (thanks to the UCW gobbling up the NCU- a black day) so I'd rather the voting was a considered move by individuals rather than just a "my mate said it was bad" sheep-like decision.
What, oh pompous one, people not commenting unless they know what they're talking about? Good concept, but it'd never catch on.Do you see me commenting on anything but deliveries - NO - because I don't profess to know anything about them - just observe the same courtesy.

Re: Myths about the agreement
in reply to dingo,s opening post , you should NOT be using 'averages' for you figures mate, they are very misleading and give everyone a false impression. we all know what can be done with figures. rm have been fiddling them for years. in our office for example(gateshead d.o) the foot turn with the lowest number of doors is 601, the highest 1037. so the lowest walk gets £10.03p,for his d2d (1.67p)and thats just for one set,..its nearly always 3 lots. the highest getting £17.31, for 1 set, and a whopping £51.93 for 3 sets. so when we start to get the unlimited ammounts they want to bring in, you can see how much money people stand to lose. as for the market having a potential of 14 billion items, royal mail could, and most definately would undercut every leaflet distributer in the business if they get a yes vote on this deal, they could simply say to all these companies, we only pay our staff £14.00 to deliver leaflets, so come to us, we,ll give you a better deal than 'amaro' and 'tnt' etc. and before you know it, 15 to 20 lots a week. the d2d is not dropping off, its going to increase vastly. this is why they want to give us buttons for doing them. union policy is 'A FAIR DEAL FOR ALL. well this is clearly not the case with this deal, there are so many foot people going to lose out, its farcical. the losers are the majority, NOT the minority. so the union shouldve walked away from this deal when it became clearly obvious what was going to happen.

Re: Myths about the agreement
Thank you and you are right so the cap being removed with their DOMINATION OF THE D2D MARKET would mean that we could end up delivering every leaflet's in your newspaper's magazine's and all those dodgy characters walking around delivering pizza and curry flyer's!. Just wonder if the competition commission will take a look at this!.daveyeff wrote:in reply to dingo,s opening post , you should NOT be using 'averages' for you figures mate, they are very misleading and give everyone a false impression. we all know what can be done with figures. rm have been fiddling them for years. in our office for example(gateshead d.o) the foot turn with the lowest number of doors is 601, the highest 1037. so the lowest walk gets £10.03p,for his d2d (1.67p)and thats just for one set,..its nearly always 3 lots. the highest getting £17.31, for 1 set, and a whopping £51.93 for 3 sets. so when we start to get the unlimited ammounts they want to bring in, you can see how much money people stand to lose. as for the market having a potential of 14 billion items, royal mail could, and most definately would undercut every leaflet distributer in the business if they get a yes vote on this deal, they could simply say to all these companies, we only pay our staff £14.00 to deliver leaflets, so come to us, we,ll give you a better deal than 'amaro' and 'tnt' etc. and before you know it, 15 to 20 lots a week. the d2d is not dropping off, its going to increase vastly. this is why they want to give us buttons for doing them. union policy is 'A FAIR DEAL FOR ALL. well this is clearly not the case with this deal, there are so many foot people going to lose out, its farcical. the losers are the majority, NOT the minority. so the union shouldve walked away from this deal when it became clearly obvious what was going to happen.
