Local reps have a big part to play in that once the revision for their D.O kicks in, for example if the duties that are produced by the new hopefully improved pegasus dont look right they wont make it the vote stage, if they do look right and I put them forward for ther local mbrs to vote on, they then have to pass the test of the members looking at the new duties and saying yes that is a realistic workload based on fair and transparent standards.
So if the duties that are produced by the new hopefully improved pegasus dont look right they wont make it the vote stage,
What then Daz because the agreement is the agreement and we don't know/won't know what the fair and transparent standards will be.

"The agreement will be consistently deployed at local level with continuity of service in a way that means managerial executive action and industrial action become unnecessary.
Both parties are fully committed to all elements of this national agreement and neither will sanction any local negotiations which seek to change the principles or spirit of this agreement and/or make their deployment less effective and/or delay implementation.
The Industrial Relations Framework will still apply but the focus will be on joint problem solving and working together to develop practical solutions at local level. The formal disagreement procedure will only be used as a very last resort."

If the duties are produced by a nationally approved pegasus revision Daz what will be your reason for disagreement....you don't like them. :hmmmm

Pegasus produces delivery routes not duty structures, it is far more likley to be duty stuctures that would be the reason behind the dissagrement. For example the DOM and I might not agree on the duty type to allocate to the 6 hour PT staff.

There might be a route which i feel needs to stay as a bike based delivery (bikes are listed as delivery method in the proposed agreement)

Another reason is the members voting no, thus depriving me of a mandate to sign the changes off and at local level the DOM refusing to change anything/address the concerns of the mbrs.

Looking at the IR framework section 1.3 achieving local agreement, I dont understand the need for what is written in 2010 about trying to reach agreemnt and last resort for the dissagrement procedure. Section 1.3 looks fine to me and perfectley up to the job!!

Reach local agreement in line with the IR Framework on new duty proposals

Thats from the revision process section of 210 and beyond.

Dissagrement is a bona fida part of the IR framework.

Anyhow our area rep says we can't have a union meeting about this agreement. He's totally against us doing this. What's more we've never seen him since the agreement came to light.
Any other offices having similar resistance?
Surely there's a quiet pub not far from the delivery office where all interested posties can meet at a convemient time not long after work to discuss the agreement. A few posters dispayed in the office and word of mouth should ensure everyone knows about the meeting. You then can all easily come to some sort of decision with or without the local CWU rep. :Very Happy

He cannot stop you having a meeting, but you can stop him being your Area Rep. not many people will vote during an election of are rep so get someone to stand against him and get him voted out.
Maybe when he's back on a delivery he will understand why you think it's such a crap deal.

You are right.

They should represent us and this means they should be bending over backwards to consult their members. It sounds like they are bending over backwards not to consult you.
