You are not getting it. Work to your time by all means, but if you are not completing your walk and bringing back mail, under the 10% rule in the 2010 and Beyond Agreement, beware, RM will then have the agreement they need to manage you out of the business. This is not scare mongering, this has been happening already without the agreement, so with that little bit of paper !!!!

Why worry ? Just work to your time (Cut Off)! It's simple ! Then see what RM do.

PS - Just a discussion point. Don't shoot me lol.
Do you mean now or in the future? If its now , then yes cut off and dont forget its only a three and a half hour delivery span now.BUT! if its in the future, with uncapped delivery spans then be afraid,,,be very afraid......
I do understand the pressure some people are under, but uncapped delivery span does not mean you work beyond the hours for the day.
Uncapped delivery spans mean just that uncapped. So in theory you could be asked ,sorry told to take half a walk out instead of doing ips ,and then when you come back take your own walk out because while you were out delivering someone threw out your walk.So no, you wont go over your time but you could end up doing a six hour delivery...
I married my wife for her looks, but not the one she gave me when i said i was going to be a postman.

You could under any agreement. Thought the single delivery was capped but you could do more than one...
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

By "Working Your Time" I mean not working more than your scheduled hours per day whether it's "Indoor" or "Outdoor" work.

Unfortunatley,a working to your time culture has not filtered through to many RM workers yet.

Many just fail to realise the relationships that exist between not doing your job properly and B&H, manageable workloads etc...

Imagine a duty that was not possible to complete on time. The duty holder, reserve and sick cover all use cars, come in early, run etc....in order to get done on or before time.
The cover guy doesn't do this and works hard doing his job properly. A prime candidate for harassing.

Imagine the same duty. The duty holder, reserve and sick cover all do the job properly and either cut off regularly, or book ot.
The cover guy gets done early by cutting corners etc.. Who will get harassed here?

Now imagine a whole office full of people doing the job properly, with only 1 or 2 flyers. Would you ever fear if your duty was over its time after a revision? No, because everyone else covering would have the same problems as you. Would you ever fear about cutting off or claiming on a really heavy day? No, because countless others would be on the same day in the office.
If many of the duties were over there time and unmanageable, could the manager deny it or B&H enough people to make it fit? No, and they could not face away from the obvious, that more hours would be needed to ensure the USO.

I just wish more people would wake up and smell the coffee, we need to work in a proper manner to enjoy a better working environment and protect each other from unmanageable workloads and stress.

The trouble is......if you have a walk that goes over your time on a regular basis , you book ot, therfore showing the walk is to big .But! because you book ot, it does not cause dim any bother...Now on the other hand if you cut off or leave mail ,you get grief , lots of grief...

Deep down you and I know it will never happen.

Too many DOM pets ! Those that do OT as long as they don't have to do IPS. Those that do OT as long as they can borrow a van. Those that do OT as long as they don't have to wait for the "miss-sort" run.

Sigh !

Half the battle is won, the walk is admitted to be too big. As for cutting off, I entirely agree. This is because we have a culture whereby many people do not work in this manner. If enough people did, the culture would change.

Just look after yourself and do the job properly.
