He's right. Both the RM, and the CWU, will have to get back around the negotiating table if a "NO" vote is returned in the ballot. :cuppa

VOTE "NO" TO A DEAL THAT INSULTS POSTAL WORKERS.

Of course they wont.
The strike ballot died around the time you were tucking into your Christmas dinner.
Fresh strikes would require a fresh ballot and that would end in an embarrassing defeat.
So your absolutely right there will be no more NATIONAL industrial action. :whistle
yep and you can blame big dave and the rest of the negotiation team for that :arrrghhh

At last will all members receive the full 90+ page document of the agreement and could you give us some of the recommendations of the leaders of our union OR indeed the PEC!.
Yes the members will get the full document - as they always do.

The recommendation from the PEC will be to vote yes....... obviously given that they voted it through to this stage!
Thanks for your speedy response but as we already knew that the deal was a yes to (recommendation) was this a unanimous vote from the PEC or were their abstainers or even dissenters in their ranks a rough idea would be nice no names!.

i heard 3 voted against it , i never got a full copy of the agreement in 2007, i remember having to download it.

On this one I want to clarify that I am not 100% sure that hq will post the full 80pages to members house simply due to cost / printing logistics.

That hasn't been decided / finalised yet but thought i'd edit the previous post incase it was found later to be wrong.

No point in sending out function specific parts to all members is there?

For example what is the point of sending out the delivery framework to every member?

Waiting for you to get slated for that comment Daz!

This isn't 3-4 or whatever seperate deals this is the big one.
Will i vote with everything that i know from the whole deal,or just on what i know about deliveries?

I will not vote on what just affects me,i will vote on what affects everyone in the business. My colleagues up and down the country.

Sounds the romantic way,but hey that's me.

Does the agreement have a cross fuction element in it we could all end up doing each others job's for is that not what royal mail want?. And you would say we do not need to know this after all we should all know what we are voting for or not should we not. ?

I wonder how many of the p.e.c, will be out on the streets delivering endless d2d untill 3/4 o'clock on saturdays, as for 1in 4 saturdays i'ts a joke our office struggles to support i in 6 now and as we're always vastly over budget '' according to our manager''.so brining extra staff in for cover i just can't see it. If the p.e.c recomend a yes vote, then we need stand tall and be counted, Vote NO.

If some of the challengers for PEC get voted in then some current PEC members will be doing just that!!!!

The rank and file have the power to alter the line up, but will they use it or not bother to vote and then complain when the PEC make decisions that are not to the mbrs likeing?

No, but the Pay & Mod did. And as far as I know, it'll stay in force, even if this deal gets voted in:
Working in nearby offices – Areas will identify and agree with the CWU locally
a approach (which could include the use of volunteers and reserves) to
working in nearby offices within employees’ contracted hours which will
include travel times and appropriate travel and subsistence arrangements.

not to send every member a copy of the agreement is a mistake, if it is down to cost alone i wonder how much the roadshow cost?
