Good point made by drb about members being victimised by trumped up charges.

Anything in agreement that puts a stop to that or at least attempts.

And while on subject any figures from CWU on how many members have been suspended or dismissed in last 2 years.

And if there is does it show a rise.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

My point Lovejoy is more come the end of this 3 year deal. That RM will do what they want with delivery spans and work measures, and they wont be breaking the agreement.
and The CWU will then have nothing left to negotiate with.

We as reps are REALLY up against it. We have an employer who,(certainly last year),gave us a good "kicking",and we had to bite the bullet so as in order to not invalidate the local ballots. Then we have,(and this is the biggest fight),members who have killed the job.Yes. Killed the job.

I am not selling this deal,(I still do not trust them). However to qoute one leading, senior manager in regards to Geo Route :" We will give you all the realease time you need and let you into "the box",(Geo Route).

I rather be "spiittng out" then "spitting in"

I really understand that those offices that are weak will probably suffer because of this deal. I mean some offices only went to 5 day week 4 years AFTER the Way Forward.

Something happened in the National Negotiations, and it probably went like this : No money,as we are insolvent : Independant parties : If the workforce are not with you,no matter what you implement,it will not work:

Union : Grab what we can, with whatever they have left and be in the center of EVERYTHING. However....still the "trust" issue bugs me..........

The only thing that will end after 3 years is the rewards section and then a new pay deal will be negotiated as per normal.

The standards / revision process will hold the field as per any normal national agreement.

For example the way forward was 10 yrs ago but our annual leave, sick entitlements etc are still based on that agreement

I have exactly the same worries on trust but the fact is if we base our vote on that then we will never have an agreement because we will never trust them.

As hard as it maybe I think now is our best chance with the assistance of ACAS to oversee the implementation of the agreement.

We need to organise, communicate with each other,(this forum is a great start). More co-ordination is required. We need to know what ,(for example), Bolton are doing,to Glasgow,to London. They "cluster"...why can't we?

You need to pressurise your branch / division etc because that should be happening with or without this forum.

In fact this forum is not that helpful with this issue because most posters will not say where they are from!

This is why there is so much sceptism on this deal.We have all been "bitten" by those lot over the years. How do we overcome this? Massive task by the reps/branches.

Really hope your right about that Lovejoy. but the standards themselfs are not actually in the agreement. and the revision process can be bypassed via EA.
I would be a whole lot happier with the standards in the agreement, a national maximum on delivery spans.

Thats the million dollar question but the difference this time for them is that if this deal doesn't work then royal mail has no viable future - this means it pays for them to honour the deal.

Right I am off for some zzzzz's. Really disappointed with the efforts of Dvbuk tonight. Not even a reply of note. I'm sure he'll be back in the morning after getting some inspiration from his dreams.... :Very Happy

There was one.It was left open to Higsons obsession with performance standards. Now I know they will bleat on about Business Plans". However shove the agreement under their nose and say "Where in this agreement is the word business plans?"
