The reason I am being so blunt is because I am fed up of having every single thing I say analysed, slyly attacked etc. I am just a poster like everyone else. I don't go out of my way to rip into another contributor unless they have been doing it to me.

I dont want to fall out with anyone but if that means not posting (like many do) because I'm afraid that people wont like it and savage it then so be it.

I'd guess Hayes as the head of the union would have to sanction things at this level so yes he's naturaly ''involved'' the funding was a response from royal fail as it's very much in there intrest to push through there mandate. We all know how bad this ''deal'' is many have already asked reps for forms to withdraw support from the cwu so 'direct funding'' from royal fail is as said at a meeting ''on the cards'' if the level of support falls to unsustainable levels

Lovejoy please don't stop posting. Way up in the snowy north it's good to get the perception of someone who obviously has got good info.

This deal is not black n white, good and bad. I think the leadership have got the correct strategy to influence what happens to us in our working lives. My problems stems from experience of the Pay n Mod deal where the CWU negotiated locally in good faith, introducing working practises that virtually casualised the job. RM responded by repeatedly acting outwith the Agreement - banking of hours, excessive lapsing and bullying to hit unagreed workrates. We have no trust that the local leopard has changed its spots. The IR Framework and Grievance procedure were ignored by RM.

Secondly, I stood on the picket line for 17 days with men and women who had faith that the CWU would put an end to intimidation as a mangement tool. We believed big Dave when he said there would be an independent review. This Agreement asks us to turn the other cheek.

Finally the Strike for me was never about money. But to ask us to be the only part of the entire workforce to take a pay cut is wrong. The Leadership need to go back to the table on that one.

I agree with you love joy it seems if you don't agree with what certain posters even the moderators you either get warned or insulted.

I have to say once again that "in today’s financial climate" this is a good deal for all, to secure the future of Royal Mail like every other business today they all are cutting costs too, like us they are feeling the pressures of this recession.

I would urge you all to vote yes to this agreement, not only will it secure your future, it will also secure the future of the business

Not strictly true is it, what with the Banks and city traders being bailed out with £800 Billion of taxpayers money and still continuing to pay out £1,000,000 + individual bonuses from that public handout.

This bit is true as well. For 24,000 of us over the next three years it will secure your P45 , and for the majority of those left it will secure a guaranteed inflation proof pay cut.

The reason for striking was to put an end to bullying and management by fear. This proposed deal does not solve the bullying issue. It is a disgrace.
