i hope your wrong Lovejoy, i think you may be right though.
I remmember When the ballot for strike action came back a no when we were balloted over SDD, that the CWU objected that they never had a level playing field to make their case.

With RM and the CWU pulling out the stops for a yes, They may get it, doesn't make it a good deal though.

The NO vote is a shoe in - this is what lovejoy posted earlier, when I replied he misconstrued the tenure of the posting - I'm sure he meant a yes vote but we've definitely got them rattled.

For me the sooner the better although despite what some posters in here think the local reps briefings have been a major success not just from the point of HQ pushing a no vote but also from the unit reps who have been able to question,criticise and debate with the unions senior officials!

As for the success of the circus - had the deal been any good it wouldn't have needed the snake oil. It would have been cheaper to send a letter to each member saying - VOTE YES - THERE'S NO PLAN B - mind in truth there was no plan A either.

Since you are not a representative and have no experience outside your own office thats a bold statement to make.

When the ballot was called we responded and held firm - of course that was only for two days - but WE didn't call it off - and you may well remember we advocated a continuance but no as usual you toed the line and said that the interim agreement was the in thing - well it wasn't and neither is this agreement.

Our acceptance for change began in 2008 with advice from HQ - you really shouldn't equate a weak area union with a weak shop floor - still you don't seem to know too much about the shop floor.

To be honest I've had enough. Everytime somebody posts something positive they are the ones that are bullied by certain posters. People on here PM me regularly to ask questions because they are afraid to post them up on the board!

The reason I am being so blunt is because I am fed up of having every single thing I say analysed, slyly attacked etc. I am just a poster like everyone else. I don't go out of my way to rip into another contributor unless they have been doing it to me.

I dont want to fall out with anyone but if that means not posting (like many do) because I'm afraid that people wont like it and savage it then so be it.

Well I've not heard Billy Hayes promoting this deal whatsoever as its an IR issue.

On the issue of the direct funding that is not true - I know emotions are high but if anyone honestly feels the CWU would get into that sort of deal with the employer then it's a sad deal. the agreement reiterates the point that the CWU is an independent trade union.

They are not part of the agreement but the ambition is to get this info and cdv guidelines, menu of options etc out to branches prior to the vote so this info can be circulated!
