Don't go over. Your playing into their hands, get a gaffer to the frame and ask them to cull it till your quite sure you can do it in the time you should. get them to cull it every day and that will sicken them eventually. in my neigbouring office in Moston I seen a load of posties out at 2,30 pm Today. what dickheads. cull it. cull it. cull it. they wil soon get sick of it.....NewPostieUK wrote:Lucky you. I wish someone would do something for me.Postman Plodd wrote:Yup starting Monday we part timers are to walk in at start time and be met with walks all prepped, bundled and bagged by f/t.
Today I prepped my own walk completely, all trays, flats, packets door to doors, everything. Did all kill offs, re-directions etc, bagged up and did my part of the lapsed walk.
Went over half an hour.

Just tell him you will come back to the office after your walk and if you have spare time you will do it

Re: Part timers to lapse everyday of the week?
Seeing as i walk in at my start time to find half my walk prepped on most occasions, what will change that will enable the f/t to be able to complete all the extra work dumped upon them by this change in practice? Amphetamine in the tea? The introduction of more hours in the day? The warping of space/time by the large hadron collider supplied to each office as part of the modernisation/mechanisation?Spedley wrote:You part-timers are going to walk in Wednesday faced with a bunch of full timers rushing to prep and bag-up your walks. Have a nice coffee break!

kewell wrote:no worries mate, wont make any diff to me,like i say been doing it nearly 18 months, just about finishing my walk on time,or going over my time, but being paid for it after 5-10 mins explaining why.if this gets voted in,theirs no way i could finish my walk on time,i struggle now.if job market was a bit healthier i would walk out now,but we all know what the situation is like re:employment.Postman Plodd wrote:What im saying is that while up until now both p/t and f/t have lapsed walks on Monday and Tuesday, from next week we p/t folk will be the only ones to do lapsing and lapse every day. What other offices have been doing i have no clue, so forgive me if this seems i'm complaining over nothing...
Why will this being voted in mean there is no way you could finish on time
I will take on more DTD no probs, but in the unlikely event RM/CWU get their figures wrong for putting it into workload, then It will be a case of hi ho hi ho a cutting off we go.

Is that like a walk sequencing machine?Postman Plodd wrote: The warping of space/time by the large hadron collider supplied to each office as part of the modernisation/mechanisation?
I can't find it in the agreement, what page is it on? And I am sure there would be H&S implications if they tried to put one in our DO.

Ours sits beside the coffee machine, the number of times the lads have gone for a Lion bar and caused a cataclysmic shift in the reality paradigms....clashcityrocker wrote:Postman Plodd wrote: And I am sure there would be H&S implications if they tried to put one in our DO.

This could answer why the proposed new agreement is being touted as a 'good thing', theyre from a different universe/dimension where the opposite is true.clashcityrocker wrote:And I am sure there would be H&S implications if they tried to put one in our DO.

Re: Part timers to lapse everyday of the week?
We p/t havent been informed as to what is happening at all by management but if indeed it is as i have been told third hand, it would seem we WOULD have the time to do it seeing as we would be actually walking the streets and nothing else. If we havent been informed we cant really counter any arguments from management can we? So p/t will be out walking for the entirety of our contracted hours, 5 hours in my case.shuffler3 wrote:Why do you's do the lapsing when you have no time to do your own walk? How the fwck do you get a Lion bar out of the coffee machine?Postman Plodd wrote:Ours sits beside the coffee machine, the number of times the lads have gone for a Lion bar and caused a cataclysmic shift in the reality paradigms....clashcityrocker wrote:Postman Plodd wrote: And I am sure there would be H&S implications if they tried to put one in our DO.
That aside - Do you write for Dr Who?
Being supplied with a tardis instead of a van would solve a lot of issues about the space needed for 2 walks, all the packets , SD's and tracked items in a van in a park and loop scenario. It would also put an end to any worries people might have about performance issues and later finishes. It would surely be possible to finish before you have even started.
Training would be a problem. Some of my colleagues haven't even mastered AA's and we would be expecting them to understand systolic fusion.

The conceit only works, if one assumes that the machine next to the coffee machine is mistaken for the one that sells chocolate and crisps.clashcityrocker wrote:How the fwck do you get a Lion bar out of the coffee machine?
Do i write for Dr Who? I cetainly wouldnt admit to the writing anything for its last incarnation. I did in fact help with Star Trek: 2010 And Beyond. i developed an autocratic diktat issuing race of beings that used cyclical backwards logic and pseudoscience to browbeat any other race in their path. The Moy-alrail Cowerofshunts. The pilot was rejected as being too far fetched even by sci-fi standards.
I have the beginnings of an idea for a post influenced Dr Who. One evil timelord would be Dr Thefigures.
