It would be wrong to compare this proposal with the result of the 2007 Pay and Modernisation agreement - the two are similar only in the sell out of the membership - we have a more wary membership who still feel that 2007 and the latest debacle with the strikes last year and the terms of this proposal are not in their best interests and will not go blindly into the dark.

The vote is now delayed by a week and as a reminder to waverers here is what the agreement says pointed out by fishtank:

"Both parties are fully committed to all elements of this national agreement and neither will sanction any local negotiations which seek to change the principles or spirit of this agreement and/or make their deployment less effective and/or delay implementation."

Now does that sound like someone who is representing YOU or merely following diktat from Royal Mail.

This deal will seal our fate as sure as eggs are eggs if it goes through.

How any union man could put his name to that, unless he's on the take of course, I'll never know.

There's no sitting on the fence there H - "you'll do as RM says and we'll see that you do" the worrying thought is how many of these little pearls of wisdom are there in this document? No wonder they made it 80 pages long.

Sorry dont get that one, since when did the per centage of duty time that is outdoor work influence WORK/HOME TIME balance? :hmmmm Start and finish time decide that dont they :hmmmm

What is WORK/HOME TIME balance? :hmmmm

That will vary accordng to the desires and needs and family set up of the individuual.

Lets say I move to 8-2 from 0645 to 1245 I will see more of my children before work and still have the same amount of time after work. Later start and finish is family friendly for me :Very Happy
It will not be 8-2 mon -fri More like 7.30-15-30 with Saturday five day week with rotating day off!.

Who said anything about M to F?

I was not aware I was moving to a 8 hour day from 6 hour day :hmmmm

That's the page that says it was all a wind up and we're getting a 100% pay rise and a 20hr working week unless you work in the PE postcode. :chuckle
