Royal Mail Saves a Fortune By Using Vehicle Tracking

The Royal Mail runs a huge fleet of vehicles and with this comes a large cost to the business. This kind of cost to the business can easily run out of control and with an organisation of this size is more than likely to do exactly that.

Royal Mail now use DigiCore C-Track to keep tabs on their entire fleet of vehicles. It is reported that they have now saved 10% on fuel. This amounts to a staggering 4.4 million pounds. Money is always a big part of the story with vehicle tracking. If the truth be told and that’s what we are all about here at VehicleTrackingSystems.org.uk it’s usually 95% or motivation for a business to invest in GPS tracking.

Therefore Royal Mail were over the moon when they found out they had saved some a large sum of money on their fuel costs, but this was not the only advantage. They also lowered the number of accidents on the collections. Road traffic accidents are never a good thing for a company vehicle to involved in or indeed any vehicle. If you can lower the number of vehicles involved in accidents it’s got to be a good thing.

Royal Mail hopes that the C-Track vehicle tracking system should help to lower the number of vehicles in their fleet which will help to further reduce costs.

Pity they will be burning these savings when we get 1000's of CDV's for the delivery offices.

I cut-off today and traveled about 10% less than usual. Can I put that down as a random saving due to tracking as well?

Or, perhaps government tax laws have made modern vehicles more efficient and the deliveries are bigger so there are less vans?

Its that magic number again. :cuppa
How do they manage to save fuel by having a tracker fitted, is it because people are cutting off 10% of their duty :hmmmm
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Apparently, in a short while, the GPS system will go down, as satellites aren't getting seviced due to the USA's lack of cash.
They are also cutting back on the Space stuff promised some time back.
But, the main Military ones will be repaired/upgraded no doubt.

So, after we see the 40th or so fire in the sky as they enter Earths atmos and burn up, we'll be free again.
FREE I TELL'S YA!!! FREEEEEEE !!!

Yep the guardian ran an article on it last year - although their dates seem a little out now.
