Who can walk about for 6.5 hours a day for 4 days, I suppose if you are eddy izzard its like water of a ducks back, but come one people, I for sure dont want to be walking about for those hours, just imagine in the winter time, snowing, blowing a gale, freezing out for 6 hours lol.

Does this 4 day week result in less people needed, ie job losses?

Forgot to say based on a 4 day week your break rises to 50 minutes

Thats based on a 9.35 day as once you go over a 9hr day this is the reason for the 10 minute rise.

So if your walks 5.5-6 hrs long take 50 mins plus travel time your looking at over an hour so its coming down if you do the math correct.

You would expect it to have and impact on walks ratio i couldnt work it out but gut feeling told me it wasnt in our favour.

I think you would need 2 group men to every six walks but not a 100% sure.

You won't necessarily be on 5hr+ walks!
It does though depend on how big your office is.

If your walks are roughly 3:30hrs then it could be a goer.
You will lose 1 walk for every 2 sets of duties (4 walks)as you should absorb 1/4 of a duty.Wed to Sat gives you enough time....just.
The problem is Mon and Tue which are the light days and you have to fill your time out.
To do this you would have to have an amount of part timers, and you would also need some full timers to be permenant Mon/Tue rest days to absorb the IPS and prepping.

It can be hard work to work out,but if you can it is worth it for the time off.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
