403 is generally though not exclusively caused by the hosts sever, I am guessing it was an overload as apparently we were near 400 on line at one point last evening.

Just as a matter of interest ,how many folk came on yesterday?,the time I was on there was 370 and the site was working fine, also theres a number on the index page that says the most on the site at one time was 430?,was that particular record smashed?
The more you know, the worse it gets.

Re: 403 error
It wasn't a hack or lack of bandwith,we have loads of bandwith as i upped it when i got burnt a few months ago.
My host pulled the site as it was bringing the server to it's knees, the message board we use, phpbb uses s**t load of resources and we have been having millions of queries a month.
We should of been upgraded today to semi dedicated hosting where this won't be a problem, but i have not heard from them as to whether we have.
Chances are we have as we will only get pulled when we get busy again.
Fingers crossed we'll be ok.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Everybody needs to go onto Facebook and/or Twitter and become friends with/follow Teebs/Postman RMC and that way you'll still get information about what's going on.................at least that's what I did.
