I'm also a member of Gwent AMAL, and basically our rep (who went to the meeting in Bournemouth) told me if you vote no your going to get nowt. They will withdraw D2D completely, no one will get any money and the rest of the deal will be brought in by executive action. The D.O.M. in our office wanted to have everyone in on a one to one, till they all told him to f**k off. This is starting to get interesting!!!

We had the area rep round to answer questions as the office rep refused to reccomend what he considered a poor deal to the members , once put on the spot the area rep was unable to come up with 1 reasonable response to any questions .

Branches better start thinking long and hard about this one.
These boys and girls are only there because we put them there and are much more vulnerable than HQ.
I think a lot of them better start digging out their walking boots if they continue to preach against the wishes of the membership.

One branch decide towards the end of the meeting today as to their recommendation, it will be a no. They wanted to wait untill they had, had chance to hear dave and his officers speak before deciding.

You mean to say that with all the expense of the road show and the time allowed for meetings there is still a possibility that individuals are NOT swayed by the snake oil salesmen - and Lovejoy just had the recommendation for our Branch confirmed as a NO.

My theory for what it is worth is that this deal does nothing for the rank and file and even if it is voted through the NO voters will be less than enthusiastic in agreeing any changes in a hurry - especially with such a paltry amount on offer - the branch may say yes but the man from delivery he say NO and that is where the changes are expected to be. The next thing you know there'll be ballots for IA.

Thanks for that FT - I hadn't seen it but it only confirms that the CWU has indeed become just the another arm of RM management - the tragedy is we are actually paying them for the privilege of being sodomised.
