Would you do extra work for less money?

Do you work Saturdays at all never mind working a later one?
Big Dave........
How much are you getting for putting this deal through? I am totally and utterly convinced there is financial gain for the CWU if this deal goes through. It's the only logically explanation why the CWU are trying to persuade/force us to vote yes? Why else would they feel they need to travel up and down the country like a circus to try and get yes votes? It sure as hell is not to benefit the paying members! Your a disgrace CWU! A complete disgrace! You let me down in 2007, 2009 and now 2010. The choice this pathetic agreement gives me is simple me thinks.....
Vote yes for a secure job for the next few years with total lack of terms and conditions. Royal Mail free to do with you what they feel is operationally viable or
Vote no and and let's get a deal were we all benefit. If we don't get a deal were we all benefit I for one would still rather have my self respect than a job were I'm expected to do what the computer thinks I can do.
So thanks but no thanks Dave. Stick your current proposals where the sun don't shine and come back to me when you have something with a little more substance.
I think the point about having to do what the computer says is very important. We had our meeting with our DOM today and he kept quoting the traffic figures against the manpower levels insisting that we should be able to do everything within the time.
Even on a Saturday where people work faster than required we still end up working to our time, so with the proposed extra sized walks, with extra prep etc including extra D2D'S I just can't see it working.
I except some things need to change and apart from the lousy Saturday situation, I am happy to do the job properly and work to my time. What I don't want is to feel pressured into working at an unreasonable speed inside and outside and then be accused of not being in the top 10% or whatever because the computer says we can do it.
There is no common sense being applied to this in RM'S desire to save money. I think there will be a lot more trouble in store if they pursue this type of attitude.
