One minute the CWU spokesmen are telling us that D2Ds into workload will protect jobs, then they're telling us that D2Ds will soon be arriving in one envelope, which is it?

Both,if people are complaining about the pay structure it's about "saving full-time jobs" and if people start worrying about the extra workload this brings suddenly they are all arriving pre-packed in one envelope.
It's really quite entertaining watching them chase their tails.

Does that mean that those of us in areas where quality is high and we get 3 D2D on a regular basis will under the new agreement be subsidising both those that do not get an opportunity to deliver D2D through no fault of their own i.e geography, and also those in area's that just cant be arsed to deliver them thus reducing the quality and therefore the customers willingness to send them to certain areas i.e. some postcodes in London as you say.

I can understand helping colleagues who through no fault of their own could not get d2d payments.
As you say improve your quality and the growth protential in London is massive, but why should we lose our payments to subsidise your members, people in the areas you are describing should get NO help at all, because if it happened anywhere else they would face conduct charges.
I couldn't agree with you more welshy808 this is the same for us (different area). At a branch meeting i asked the reps if they had any door to door 'barons' in their offices, answer no. To make national policy over what a handful of Posties get up to is crass at best! :arrrghhh

Your forgetting if they need to bring their prices down to capture more of the unaddressed market then they would not be able to continue to pay you the 1.67.

You won't get 1.67 you get £20.60 no matter how many you do, none or say 6.
What I would like to have cleared up is this, when we first heard about the new D2D agreement, we was told that they would put them all together some how, but today it was said mybe and we will have to add time to the duties for prepping them. Well what is the truth all together or prep time added ?

Both!!!

New work rates are being developed which will allow for prep and delivery of DTD, untill those workrates are finalised and revealed we can only guess if they will be any good.

Getting them alltogether is something RM are thinking about, but at this moment in time its still in R & D.
Then get the workrates sorted before the agreement is voted on! Do you take a car that is in R & D out on the road, No you test and test again.

I agree, I willbe very dissapointed if all the attendance patterns, shared vans and workrates/load details are not available at the time of the last possible day to post my ballot paper back.

Dave and co did say most informed basis possible.

But he wil do the same amount of hours work as you and will be paid the same as you.

surely you can see that if you had 730 drops compared to 250 you are doing more work!!! If you were given the choice between a duty with 730 drops or one with 250 drops which one would you choose Big Daz?

No

I just want the promise made to me in letter that we all got the other week to be kept.

Vote on the most informed basis possible was the promise was it not?

Regardless of whether the words in the agreement are good bad or indifferent, I want DW and co to keep their word.

It's not all about how many delivery points there is in some if not most circumstances, and walks should not be based on that.
I know of walks in my office where one guy can deliver 4 letters to anothers 1.
Some walks are a mare to prep but a lot easier to deliver than the easy prepped walks.
Swings and roundabouts.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

When you say swings and roundabouts do you mean some walks take 2.45 to deliver and others take 4 hours + as is the case in my office so when the person cycles past the guy on the 4 hour + on his way home does he just shout at him "swings and roundabout pal" This is after all walks were set at 3hr 20mins through pegasus so god nows how its going to accurately give us 4.30hr walks!!!!

Dingo forgeting the fact that most posties that do 3 D2d will be losing money on this agreement,if it's all about getting unaddressed items into workload to protect full time jobs fair enough but how will this be prepped if we have say 5 on the monday will it be 1 a day or will it be 20% of all 5,questions that need to be answered before the vote because if it's 100% call rate to protect full time jobs it would have to be 1 a day.
