Yes, you're right that just because others aren't getting a pay rise, it doesn't mean that we can't have one. But when our terms and conditions are under attack like this. We need a bargaining chip, to try to get RM to back down, or at least reduce the effect of these changes. The small pay rise (and in some cases wage cut) and lump sums we've been offered, don't ammount to much to us. But when you consider how many people are in line for them. It amounts to a very large amount to RM. So why not offer to suffer a pay freeze, in exchange for better terms and conditions?
Remember: This only became about money, once the deal came out. It was supposed to be about our T&Cs. So why has this suddenly changed?

Its still about T&C money only became an issue when it was a pay cut.

I for one would do more d2d's as i understand the need for extra revenue and keeping jobs full time. What i dont understand is why i should loose money ????????? RM can stick phantom shares and whatever where the sun dont shine..... i aint a shyster and want money for nothing but i dont expect to be shafted by the union either..... i would do the extra d2d,s and work to my time , no probs..

Lets not forget we were NOT on strike for pay! Royal Mail have made this dispute about pay by giving us a pay cut!! Makes me wonder if we didnt go out on stike would we of just had another "pay freeze"? We may have kept the Door2Doors payments and early shift allowences? I asked this becuse before the CWU sat down for 4 MONTHS nothing was mentioned about loosing D2D payments so it wasnt as if we were on strike for that, makes me wonder if this is all the CWU's idea??

Not without breaking the current agreement.

That would be a breech of contract, as DOM's say so often "It's a separate payment" and you are contracted to do them but Royal Mail are contracted to pay for you to do them.

It's been conference policy to get D2D included into workload while retaining the financial remuneration,

I would suggest the financial remuneration means the payment per item and not the £52million that the negotiators seem to be claiming is upholding conference policy. They play on words and play with peoples livelihoods.

Question,if it hasn't already been asked,say RM with the old system put 4-5-6 ect in a sleeve and then pay you to deliver it as 1,and with the size/weight thing only pay you say 2-3p what would you of done?

If RM put 4-5-6 D2D into one envelope and paid just 2p per item, I would receive Just over £10.50 allowing for my floater to do his 20%, I would also keep my £12.37 ESA. Therefore I would be £2.27 better off than under this proposed agreement and not have the unlimited D2D or single day D2D.The AG t the next frame would be treated fairly and not s**t on with the pro rata and the bloke on the 1hour contract would be receiving more than the 50p the new agreement promises him.
It wouldn't solve the other problems with this deal though Late Saturdays, No Delivery Span etc. etc.

Just getting various views guys

Anyway,your £10.50 and £12.37 would stay the same unless of course your walk was made bigger.
The supplement goes up with pay rises.
