Hello Super office.

Heard last night that PRDC is to be flattened and low cost (for london) housing is to be built on the site, PRDC is to move to a new site not far from where they are now and Hatfield is to close and move in with them. Then in a few years when the new super office in Hemel Hempstead (which will be the biggest in the country) is fully up and running with the Watford & Stevenage closures and relocation in place, PRDC is to close and move into the new Hemel site as well.

How far is PRDC away from the nearest motorway (or the M25)?

Surely if they close PRDC it would mean the end of mail traffic been sent by rail as well?

The stories about a Super Mail Center to take in Hemel,Watford,Stevenage have been doing the rounds for ages,i work in one of the affected offices,i dont mind being shifted around,but it would be nice to be told officially whats going.

RM in the past rarely leased sites,buying was the old tactic,but i've been informed the latest plans are to sell a lot of their sites and then lease them back.

I agree it would be nice to know what is planned, instead of hearing all these rumours.
It's the same in London, with constant rumours and speculation about which of the 3 MCs
is to close. If we were told what the future holds for us, we could at least make our plans
for the future accordingly.

There isn't that much mail that goes by train anymore, mainly Scotland, im sure this could be routed to another train station quite easily

Is PRDC the whole building or just the shorter bit? Just zooming out and looking at where it is in relation to the M25, it's a long way, I would not be surprised if it were to be moved nearer the M25. Anyone know approx what % of mail passing through there is destined for one of London's MCs?
