We were informed yesterday that there are no shoes in any common size available at the moment. We were also told that your order for shoes is removed from the waiting list after 2 weeks, so if you have been waiting longer you have to re-order..

Can i offer an idea up to you all wear your slippers into work don't use your own trainers then tell the manager that you wont be going out on delivery today or the next,in fact for the forceable future when your asked why tell them you don't have any shoes and you are only able to wear RM foot wear as that is what you have been briefed then watch them get you some foot wear worked in our office so it should in yours and no the managers ain't soft its just that we used their own rules on them.

I finally phoned up Monday as my CAT shoes have had it, expected them to say they only had Magnums in stock but all they had in was DM shoes so got a pair of them on the way, any tips for softening the backs up on these would be appreciated because I know they are going to rip my heels to bits unlike the boots.

Been trying to get any pair of work shoes/boots since November. Really pees me off as I have a knee injury and have been and got special insoles to wear inside my boots to straighten up my dodgy knees. But can I get boots? Of course not. Everytime I call they tell me they are on backorder. Everytime my manager orders them he is told they will be with him within 4 days. Needless to say they never appear. So it's not just the cats that have this problem.

There is a £30.00 shoe allowance,if you have to wait for shoes and it drags on,demand it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Postman, I don't know if that would be suitable for me, unless any of you can recommend any walking boots that are like Royal Mail ones? Just a pain in the rear that I went n got those bl00dy insoles made and now can't use them cos i'm wearing my nike air to work.

It's a health n safety issue, u cannot be allowed to go out on delivery without adequate footwear, u have to wear shoes with the British kite mark safety stamp, otherwise royal mail are not bein responsible for duty of care of ur wellbeing. Approach ur union with this approach n ur new shoes will mysteriously appear, especially if ur union go drinking with the dom like ours do
