Now in regards to most postal workers taking a pay cut. Well thats not true the vast majority will see a rise. There are 99 500 FTEs in delivery and less than a quarter will lose
.

Wow its true if you say it quick enough, then it does sound less ominous.

But take a moment or two to actually digest this nugget of information.

Nearly 25,000 people ( I expect the VAST majority being delivery) WILL LOSE MONEY.

Now forgive me for being foolish, but since when did any union advocate going for a deal that meant such a SIGNIFICANT MINORITY should lose out and then ask them to VOTE YES.

Your having a laugh half truth.

Nice spin but why dont you look at it this way :

1/ The increase for the national rate in deliveries with the compound effect will be an increase of £46.12 which will be paid week in week out and not effected by automation or decreases in traffic. For processing staff its an increase of £24.50 . For professional drivers it is an increase of £39.83. London pay ranges increases above those figures.
You CANNOT use the words "compound effect" without taking into account the effect of loss of earnings from D2D payments, loss of earnings from ESA,loss of earnings from past pay freezes and the "compound effect" of below inflation pay rises.

Unless you are unaware of the true definition of "compound effect". :no no

It's a sad day when the union is forced to use spin on it's own members to gain votes,
"We need to kill a myth in regard to the average D2D items delivered, on average it is not 3 a week and is closer to 2 a week."
What a ridiculous statement, the only way the average would increase,is if you could take more items, seeing as the maximum is 3 per week, the average is obviously going to be lower.

When it means more people keep their jobs. Pay rises are pointless if it means a dole queue in a few years time.

Is that "more" as in the 60,000 already lost or "more" as in the estimated 25,000 still to go.

If the average D2D's is 2.1 a week..... why is it necessary to remove the D2D cap of 3? At least with the cap in place people would know a maximum of how much extra work they'd get a week?

With no limits on D2D's the agreement is far too open to abuse by management!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

I've just printed it off. I am tempted to print off a load more and give them out at the gate.

Agreed, but people here are getting a pay cut not a pay rise. Thats no pay rise last year and a pay cut this year. We are talking normal hard working posties not the political points scoring scribes from both sides that post so often on here. The ordainary working man is being messed about badly by this agreement, a pay cut and longer working on his day of leisure playing/watching sport or spending time with the family or in the pub. If it was being done by the bosses then that would be more understandable, but to be done with the union's consent, well its suprising, and in the future I honestly cannot see the best members of staff staying in the employment, which would leave the company with only those who could not persuade other employers of there ability.

I'm sick of being told that by being paid for d2d 52 weeks of the year it makes it great cos we don't get paid for them at xmas, holidays and sick

the holidays and sick i'll give you but what you seem to forget is we don't get paid for them at xmas cos we don't fecking do them at xmas

or we didn't under this agreement we will - as many lots as they can throw at us - for all the offers for xmas how many do you think there will be?

and as one poster has already pointed out telling us that we will receive the £20.60 every week of the year for life? we were told the same about esa and that hasn't turned out to be the truth has it - so if you think we will vote this is only to see it disappear during the next pay 'deal' you are kidding yourselves

We can't trust the union.

We have to defend ourselves.

Please get your LAN passwords from HR so that you can access the intranet and get clued up on agreements without having to rely on your reps.

Our only weapon is the grievance procedure. Master it and implement it.

We will win.

PM me if you need any help.
