Maybe, but iis there much danger of being "found out", especially as that Recorded might have been on your day off ?stokes11eg wrote:Oops, in all conscience you should report it. It may lead to you being taken down the coduct code, but surely better that than spending weeks waiting to see if you are found out. But, as everyone else says, do not worry too much as we've all done this.

It depends I suppose on what would happen if you were found out as opposed to owning up in the first place! Me--I'm one of those saddos who gets upset even if i just forget to deliver households to a couple of doors!
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Either put it in backwards or upside down.fudgeman8 wrote:That's the weird thing, i always leave signed for stuff out until the end and put it at the front for that address.
I'm worried that it may have gone to the wrong address or i've lost it.

I once posted a special and the card and the P739 I'd written out to tell them that I'd tried to deliver it but nothing ever came of it

Just keep quite!!! When an item is posted it's handled by about 10-15 different people nothing will come back to you!

Re: recorded signed for cock up
I think we all have done this before. If you've just put it through with the normal mail most people really wont mind as long as they get the item. You may get the odd one who complains they did not sign it. If you miss delivered it elsewhere then normally people put it back in the post and you get it back a few days time.
If your unlucky they write on it "miss delivered" etc but you can often remove that using one or two of those "dead letter"stickers just wrap one around your finger sticky side out and dab at the ink till it comes off then dirty the enverlope slightly to hide the marks
Either way i would simply wait and see if it turns up. If not there's not much you can do other than assume you simply put it through.

Re: recorded signed for cock up
I wouldn't worry, there's hardly any come back on things like that just be glad it wasn't a special. We've all done it and as a result most will have adjusted how we prep our walks to prevent it happening again.
What I do to remind me I have them is to set all my recorded items aside during prep then at the end set them in at the front of the letters for that house. I also pre write out a p739 and put that in front of the recorded item as an extra reminder, you might miss the recorded sticker in a hurry (especially if it's a foreign one) but your not likely to miss a red p739 in the bundle. It also saves time if none answers the door, writing out a p739 with nothing to lean on or in the rain is a pain in the backside.

Re: recorded signed for cock up
You can't own up to losing it or anything as you're not actually positive you had one in the first place. The trouble with the job is you go onto autopilot and I've lost count of the times I could have sworn i had a recorded or packet for a certain address only to discover it was the day before or the day before that.fudgeman8 wrote:Hi, I'm sure i had a recorded signed for letter today but whilst out on delivery i didn't come across it.
I've either delivered it unsigned or lost it, what should i do?
All you can say to your lino is that you MAY have made a mistake.

Re: recorded signed for cock up
You've most likely delivered it to the correct address in which case there there shouldn't be any consequences as enquiries about delivery signatutres tend only to be made in the event of non delivery.
Don't lose any more sleep about it.

Re: recorded signed for cock up
I wouldn't worry about that if its the first time you've done it.
I once posted a special by mistake along with the card I'd just written out for it.
Told my manager and luckily there was no comeback from the customer.
