The fact is all must know what in effect we are voting for this deal is not the best deal in town in fact it is a good deal for only those who will not have to deliver day in day out!. :cfo :mfo Billy and Dave and most managers if not all after them we will all get a good shafting!.

Lets set one thing straight here! We all go to work to earn money to in turn pay our bills so if we earn less money (which we will if the deal goes through) then that can not be a good thing can it? I dont really care about the in's and out's of this deal all I care about about is paying my bills. I am one of the ones who will be WORSE off from this deal thanks CWU! So when the bills start coming in do I just send them a letter saying "sorry cant pay this month but heyyyyy at least I've got a job"??

and they would lose out too, wouldn't they! so why would they do that? especially since they want to increase our share in this market.

Royal Mail will never withdraw from the market, it's far too lucrative. This is a new misnomer that both the CWU and Royal Mail have started using, maybe to make the delivery supplement more palatable. Besides, we would still have to deliver DHL/TNT door 2 door materials anyway.

To aid the transition, offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues’.
Split you bags up i can hear the DOM say,but that will take me longer say i-How says DOM?

Going by past experience all this workshop and locally agreed workloads will mean more bullying from managers to complete. This part of the agreement needs serious amendments anything less is not acceptable, they may as well pay Dave Joyce off.
It's a leap of faith my friend, but what is the alternative?
I think you know the alternative,HQ promised an independent review of workloads and from that achievable performance standards could be set ie if we are now agreeing to use geo route, then why is the walkspeed not in the agreement, there is only one kind of walking it dosnt vary from area to area.

Also when ive mentioned the 5kg max weight delivering mostly upstairs rule to my area rep he said 'that cant be right, that would mean a removal man couldnt carry a wardrobe upstairs!?! :arrrghhh
I've heard of this yet never seen it anywhere official. Is it online anywhere so I can print it off? I carry easily 3/4 times that and do 650 calls of almost all flats.
If you have a walklog it's in there. It also applies to walks over a certain gradient as well.

I understand your point and its a sign of the times, dosnt mean you cant do an Oliver Twist and ask for more.

Yeah i know people are losing their jobs around the country but they will eventually return to work probably in a non unionised workplace and on less pay and worse conditions,so even more reason to make one hell of a fight before throwing ours away.

As others have pointed out this agreement is going to add the sixty thousand jobs all ready lost, so when the Guiness Book of Records start looking for the most jobs saved by a union i wouldnt expect Norris McQuirter to be calling HQ anytime soon.

Yes, you're right that just because others aren't getting a pay rise, it doesn't mean that we can't have one. But when our terms and conditions are under attack like this. We need a bargaining chip, to try to get RM to back down, or at least reduce the effect of these changes. The small pay rise (and in some cases wage cut) and lump sums we've been offered, don't ammount to much to us. But when you consider how many people are in line for them. It amounts to a very large amount to RM. So why not offer to suffer a pay freeze, in exchange for better terms and conditions? :hmmmm
Remember: This only became about money, once the deal came out. It was supposed to be about our T&Cs. So why has this suddenly changed? :confused
