Well I wouldn't like to say with any authority but I would imagine it will go the way of the ESA - I used to start at 0330 and got 26 a week now I'm part time it is 14 and I am expecting to lose that and haven't been persuaded that it will remain by anything in this agreement.Spartacus wrote:This question has been asked on here several times and no one will answer it, I've asked the ADR and no answer is forthcoming.
Dawn shift allowance for 4 am starts, is that allowance to be further protected with grandfather rights or is it part of the delivery supplement?

The truth! wrote:No you will continue to recieve your allowance for 4am starts. Thankyou,
Will they also receive the full £20.60?

Re: Understanding the agreement
Really! So I used to start at 0330 and get £14 something now as a part timer which used to be 26 quid - so I will keep that AND get another part time share of the £20.60 and I won't deliver D2D - not that I ever did even when delivered - wow that's great news - well I used to be a NO voter - well actually I still am a NO voter. The truth! wrote:No you will continue to recieve your allowance for 4am starts. Yes you will recieve the full £20.60 if you are full time and pro rata if part time.Spartacus wrote:The truth! wrote:No you will continue to recieve your allowance for 4am starts. So the argument that ESA was an ever decreasing pool that had to be captured doesn't apply to 4am starts?
What absolute bunkum and bilge is spoken in the name of the Truth!.

If the start times are made even further forward IE 12.00pm or even 13.00pm will we get late shift attendance like we used to do?.The truth! wrote:Yes you will recieve the full £20.60 if you are full time and pro rata if part time.Spartacus wrote:The truth! wrote:No you will continue to recieve your allowance for 4am starts. Re: Understanding the agreement
Someone earlier in the thread posted that under the need to make savings, managers would ignore the agreement etc..
As a rep,who was at the Glasgow briefing yesterday this issue of trust was discussed and my understanding was that the basis of revisions would not be savings, but fair and accurate traffic recording of traffic, including door to door and the as yet unseen workload tools etc..
Now assuming these standards are fair and achievable this seems to offer chances to improve things in my office.
As an aside, when discussing this with my manager ,who i argue with daily,he was both aware of this fact and expressed some relief at not having to find some budget savings

Re: Understanding the agreement
Tell the truth - I'm as surprised as anyone because the few of us who used to start at 3.30 now all start at 5 and I assumed it would go with and be included as part of the ESA and one of the lads still on full time stood to lose his 26 quid and got the Rep to check and the reply came down that it was in the pot, which we weren't exactly excited about but hey we were just like everyone else just a bit worse off.fishtank wrote:The truth! wrote:No you will continue to recieve your allowance for 4am starts. I'll get the Rep to check again just to be on the safe side - either way it won't be life changing for me, but it lends belief to the fact that not everything is as it seems.

And do you believe him or even trust him it is his job if he does not meet the targets and his bonus if he does?.macphee1 wrote:Someone earlier in the thread posted that under the need to make savings, managers would ignore the agreement etc..

The guy does say he's from a rural office, we've got rural deliveries in our unit and they're all the same sort of timescale, it's not unusual for rural staff to be out that long. Gotta remember rurals do a lot of driving between calls, 5 hours would be about the minimum.

Re: Understanding the agreement
I have been in contact with a PEC member and they confirmed it was ES1 and ES2 only going into the supplement.
I have some members on the 2am to 4am shift allowance, so will continue to get it untill their pay protection expires which is this year.
