drb wrote:OK!...Enough! I think some people are trying to make head or tail from this agreement. It is worth the debate. Just don't get personal. It is obvious that some people on this forum are high ranking officials/area reps/Divisional.They may of seen what we do not. These negotiations were slightly different then before. In that it was all about what the business actually has in it's accounts.Everything has been agreed from that.
It appears that this "service" is knackered financially.Insolvent.Bankrupt. Whatever. How do we protect those in it,those who have started, and those that are part time.We also have to protect the service.
Not to mention those that want a decent pension at the end of their careers.Remember if we don't sort the pension then the 65's will suffer in the future. We NEED to bring that age back to the 60 year olds and below.
There is absolutly no one preposing bringing the retierment age backdown!!!
Longer Saturdays? Minimum would be every other Saturday for me...let's wait for the options, about to be released.
Parameters for Gep-route/Pegasus? I do know that they are not the parameters they are using now. Also about to be released.
Delivery Spans? Could have a few 1 hour ones,(the rep sorting the geo route by the way),with 5-6 hours indoor work. One option there.
Even when these things are realeased they are not, and never will be part of this agreement! I don't see there being any one hour spans , and if we are talking about for a choosen few, whilst everyone else does 4.5 hrs or 5hrs, i don't want them.
If the deal is crap because we want to finish early,no meal relief, and carry on using our cars...forget it.
happy to forget that because i don't do it.

What makes you think it secures jobs?Razzamadazz wrote:I will lose the vote? It's not my vote, it's called democracy .You might see it as a lie because you choose not to see the truth. Your's is a blinkered view, you've convinced yourself you're right and everyone elses views are wrong. Take off your blinkers and see what's happening around you, people losing their jobs left right and centre, people taking pay cuts just to keep a job. We've got a deal that secures jobs, allows people who want to leave the job with a payment, a pay increase and a supplement paid 52 weeks of the year whether you're at work or not. Me, I'll be voting yes because what is on the table is better than nothing at all.And that's why you will lose the vote Raz. You see it's pure lies from yourself that do your cause so much harm.
Have you read it properly?
Mail Centre and RDC closures are part of the deal. And of course there are the people who'll be pushed out, because they can't do the work within the required time (already been happening for a while now), because of unrealistic work rates on Deliveries. Yeh, we'll have VERY secure jobs!

Re: The New Delivery Supplement Explained
I also forgot to add that I actually agree with some of what you posted in this thread but will always bring up someone trying to fudge and massage figures to try and make something look better than it is in reality. You should really drop the argument for pro-rata payments for the Delivery Supplement as your sums simply do not tell the full story between P/T and F/T workers.
Cop out!

The following is what you get
Mail Centres, Collection Hubs and MDECs
A new (non pensionable) supplement to basic pay to all OPGs/OSGs in Mail Centres, OPGs/OSGs in Collection Hubs (who are not eligible to receive the Delivery Pay supplement) and Royal Mail CWU grades in MDECs pro rata for part-time employees. The supplement will increase in value as agreed in basic pay rises. It will flow through in 2011 and 2012. It will be paid 52 weeks a year at the rate of £8.00 per week and applies to new entrants. It replaces the first £8.00 of any PBS/ICS residual bonus payment in the Unit. In Units where the PBS/ICS payment is greater than £8.00, the amount over £8.00 will still be paid to existing recipients. Where the existing PBS/ICS payment is less than £8.00, the shortfall is funded on an ongoing basis by using the pool of money created by the former ESOS productivity scheme. The employees eligible for this pay supplement will also receive a one-off non-pensionable lump sum payment of £75 (pro rata for part-time employees) along with the first payment of the new supplement.
The above approach uses up the pool of money created by the former ESOS productivity scheme. Hence the ESOS scheme will cease to exist and will not accrue any future money.

Stop getting so personal!
PLEASE will everyone refrain from personal attacks. If you want to debate the issues, then please do. That's what we're here for. But if the personal attacks continue, we'll be forced to start issuing warnings.

There is a world of difference between balancing a 40hr a week job AND a unit rep position....... and that of a full-release area rep.
And to be fair there are good hard working area reps and there are piss poor area reps.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Securing jobs, is ment i think in a qualified way. ie. We wont lose as many as we otherwise would have done, i sure thats not the answer you want sorry.andy2007 wrote:What makes you think it secures jobs?Razzamadazz wrote:I will lose the vote?
