Razzamadaz, can you please explain away, why I as a Part Timer delivering the same amount of D2Ds as a Full Timer, will only receive a percentage of the supplement that the full timer gets. I believe this amounts to discrimination in the workplace, and reduces my hourly rate below that of a full timer, if you take into account the amount of work expected of me.

The idea is that you will not prep any or all of your D2D or your walk may have less calls so that you can complete in your time.
The general notion is that the payment is pro-rata because the work you will put into D2D will be less that a full timer. This has to be the case or will be unfair because you will be expected to do the same amount of prep as a full timer but with less time. Remember, you could always cut off if you were caught in this situation.

Actually I read the D2D/Delivery supplement completely differently. The way I have read the document 2 things have occured and its become blurred n people minds.

1. We effectively will no longer be paid for D2Ds ever in any way.
2. The delivery supplement is exactly that its a supplement for everyone in deliveries its not a payment for doing D2Ds

The confusion has been caused, hopefully by accident because of the wording of the 2010 Transformation Agreement: (My highlights)

To coincide with the introduction of the national agreement unit payments will cease and
the 3 items per week cap will be removed. D2D Monies will be turned into a delivery
supplement paid 52 weeks a year for all delivery employees (OPG and ORR) pro rata for
part time employees.

Notice is says D2D payments will cease. It then says D2D Monies turned into a delivery supplement, it does not say that we will be paid the Supplement instead of D2D payments. The language in this one section is indicative of the whole agreement. Its not an easy read and IMHO does not meet the crieteria for plain English agreements as carried at conference.

BTW I don't agree with this section either. I think that the various different skills and working groups within a DO should and could have different supplements for the different skills and conditions they face.

1. Callers Office could have a Customer Facing supplement to reflect the importance of that role.
2. Book Room/Locker could have leadership or Administrative Supplements.
3. IMHO only those actually out of the office on officially recognised duties that would attract the delivery supplement should get it.

In the rare occasions that someone qualifies for all 3 supplements (or any extra ones) then only the highest is paid. This would help attract people into roles which are difficult to recruit for.

I'm just a normal area delivery rep who has spent time reading and trying to understand a new agreement 'for the benefit of the members I represent I might add', that will affect us all. I work for Royal Mail too, it'll affect me just as much as it will any other employee.

Hmmm Your a normal area delivery rep. So do you have full time duty release? if so you wouldn't be currently delivering any D2D items would you. So the new delivery supplement would be a payrise for you, but a pay cut for most of your members.

I see you've writen in another post in this thread that with regard to 'delivery spans' that we can have what we want anywhere between 5hrs and 1hr. Yeah right i'll take the 1 hr span thanks. You are having a f***ing laugh right! The fact of the matter is that if this agreement goes through most of us will be doing longer deliveries and most of us will be taking home less money.......although maybe not area delivery reps on full time duty release!

OK I'm a CWU Area Delivery Rep and damn proud of it too. I represent my members the best way I can, yes I have full time release but I work in the region of 10 to 12 hours a day going from office to office, meeting to meeting, taking phone call after phone call from the moment I wake up to the minute I go to bed, 7 days a week. Want a clue as to who I am? I'm one of the blokes who put his job on the line, risked bullying and harassment from management by going on national TV to expose how Royal Mail was shitting on it's employees and it's customers, and all this to take home £246 a week and be called a dickhead for having a different opinion. When was the last time you actually stepped up to the mark dvbuk55?

No reason not to be proud of it. We already knew you were a area rep because well....you told us. My point was that this doesn't affect you in exactly the same way as it does us, it may not effect your decision, but then again it may.

Each time there has been a strike - you aren't representing your members you are preserving your position. If you are so concerned about bullying and harassment then point me to the section of this agreement that is going to do anything whatsoever to change it. In fact point me in the direction of any section in this agreement that is going to preserve jobs and protect the general membership and improve their conditions.
