No it doesn't it becomes one of two things.

1. A performance issue. And since you haven't seen the performance standards i would be nervous. :hmmmm Top 10% anyone?
2. A delivery span issue. If your delivery is 4 hours and you cannot complete.....Anyone for a 4.5 hr delivery?

i was at the meeting today as well. i can now say i have heard the arguments for and the reasons behind this agreement. i can also say that i personally thought dave, bob et all all came across really well and never shied away from the questions or the issues and fully deserved the applause they recieved. i now feel i understand the motives more and am swayed towards a yes vote. which i must admit has suprised me and would probably suprise my dom and area rep even more lol. there are still issues tho which dont sit well with me but we do need to look at the whole picture, whether that picture is in glorious digital hd or analogue depends on your viewpoint.
my branch will probably recommend a yes vote , but as normal i will inform the members about all sides of the debate and let them make up their own minds. i know this wont sit well with many members of rmc but this is my opinion, and as Clint Eastwood once said opinions are like assholes everyones got one. :wave

West of Scotland....it was all of Scotland.
Maybe this shows that rather than sit on here alongside people (99% probably haven't even read the agreement) moaning, units need to set up members meetings.

I heard the applause for the officers today was huge - this isn't because local reps are lunatics, its because they understand and support the logic behind some of the decisions that have been made!
What does this mean i've read the agreement and after delivering for four hours i have very little energy to set up members meetings is'nt that the reps job.Just because i have a differing opinion to you i'm moaning on here a great forum for ordinary members to have their say.

Let's hope they don't listen then!

These are the same kind of techniques used by nut-case US evangelists, ask yourself, would you listen to and believe any of them?

It's hardly fair to say there was only one dissenting voice at the meeting today. There was a healthy debate over the future job. Almost all questions from the floor were to clarify aspects of the Agreement - this is the stage we are at.
I doubt if any reps have had members meetings on the Agreement so are not yet aware of all members feelings. As I see it we were there to gather accurate information and point out pitfalls.

The audience were the reps who represent workers in delivery who took up to 17 days, and more, industrial action in 2009, including several days unofficial action in response to management bullying, and in support of a strong national union with the industrial strength to enforce local deals. We will have to justify that support when presenting the deal to members.

It has to be said that most of the criticism from the floor concerned whether RM managers can be relied on to implement the Agreement as outlined by Leadership.

I only heard one cry of sell out over later Saturdays.

D2D presentation was impressive but cannot hide the loss of earnings involved for most delivery workers in the central belt who deliver 3 a week.

A pay cut in return for industrial action is no good.

All i keep hearing is what a great deal, were saving jobs etc etc. Tell me do you honestly reckon RM could get walks/dutys done with 4 hour contracts??? Sort/prep.],re dir's,knock downs, bag up etc then go out and deliver it in 4 hours????

Thats why i dont buy this s**t about saving jobs because you need full time jobs to do the job.

Nothings changed, you come in, work your hours and then if the delivery isn't completed it becomes their problem,
It is your problem if your Finnish time is 3.00pm on Saturday if you do not vote against this agreement!.

I finish at 2pm just now on a Saturday, another hour isn't going to make much difference and from what Bob Gibson said today i think that our office will pretty much remain the same time wise,
Again this is my own opinion

But a huge issue is trust and we are being asked to trust RM with no history of RM respecting it's workers.

Already in our office, where hardly anybody has read the 'agreement' let alone voted on it, we have our DOM who has issued us all with sheets to fill instating the number of our gaps over the next week to get a call rate.
When asked today why we were not allowed to count at least 20% of D2D'S we were told that we will have a max of 4 and we can throw them off on a Monday and only take where we are going so not to interfere with the call rate.

Apart from the fact that most of us take the full 5 days to do 3 D2D'S at the moment as we haven't got the time, what annoys me is that he is doing this before we have even voted or read the agreement. How many more offices are effected this way?

Sure we have no rep, but you would have thought RM would have told their DOM'S to have more sense and at least pretend they have changed until after the vote.

I have emailed the CWU anyway and they did reply saying the weren't happy with that and would get hold of the Area Rep for South Wales.

lets not all forget the likes of dave ward etc... are well versed into how to deliver a pile of crap and dress it up as the cullinan diamond 'the best ever deal' we could get ... but those who can be swayed by the east ender need to take a good look at this pile of **** and read it through again before anothers slight on the 'deal' is taken as gospel and an eagerness to vote yes
quite obvious the cwu and royal fail are bricking it and doing there upmost to persuade you to vote yes ...why .... stop and think !!!!! 'elderado' it certainly isn't

See straight away the agreement has'nt even been voted on yet/been accepted yet the doms are still using their sly tactics or harrassing workers if you like, yet RM have said thier will be less heavy handed approach from managment, f***ing lies again, and they want you to accept the deal?? proves they cant be trusted.

Screwed if you do, screwed even more if you don't was the feeling I got at the meeting in glasgow today. Not the most palatable thing to swallow.

Protecting the future of the workers, maybe. Protecting and providing better conditions for the workers at the moment, doesn't really look so. Too many ifs and maybes.
