West of Scotland....it was all of Scotland.
Maybe this shows that rather than sit on here alongside people (99% probably haven't even read the agreement) moaning, units need to set up members meetings.

I heard the applause for the officers today was huge - this isn't because local reps are lunatics, its because they understand and support the logic behind some of the decisions that have been made!
the main issue we are getting is the pay cut regarding d2d ,esa, and the 75% to 25% full time will this be local or national

We don't currently have a rep, we have a spoksman...he wasn't there (he's in favour anyway), our H&S rep was there though.

Odd that the CWU weren't in favour off all these things before, when RM were first proposing them, if they are so logical.

ps. i note the caveat about 'some' of the decisions.
What did your rep have to say today?
You asked me if I spoke up - I was the one who asked the question about selling out on longer Saturdays. 1 in 4 sounds ok but are we working till 3 the other 3 saturdays?
Gibsons answer was ' most deliveries will finish by half two'
Hmmm.
As for 'one dissenting voice' thats not strictly true - only one person stood up and openly stated he was voting against the agreement, but several people put questions which were very critical of certain parts of the document ie Delivery Supplement pro rata, effective pay cuts for many, longer Saturdays etc.

I was at he meeting today, i went with an open mind about the deal, i thought the speakers came across very well, i know that Dave and co had to try and sell the agreement but i thought they handled the questions after very well as well.
Heres a question, if the d2d items came in an envelope with a stamp/frank on it, 1 item per envelope would you still moan about not getting a payment for it?
i'll take what i have back to the members, and if the branch say yay or nay to this, i'm going to say to the members to vote how they feel.

If your DOM proposed that would you be happy about it. Besides it's hypothetical D2D are not even supposed to be put inside each other.

if you opend an envelope and saw it was full of leaflets would you even look at them before binning them?

Lovejoy,

As much as i appreciate you have a hard job to do I would think that more people who use RMC have read or in some cases even seen the agreement than those who dont, It is not even up in our Mail Centre yet and when the office rep said we should support it the only answer was "we think it's good " unfortunattly for some that is just not enough. I fortunattly have a wife who works there aswell who keeps me up to date as im off as you know. however i think in the fairness of debate RMC does more for discussions than the tea room who's main saying is " well if they say its ? " yes there are die hards on here who even if you offered them a 50% pay rise and 25% less hours they would be against it on principle I do agree that some of the threads get taken over by the same people who are bassically doing what the CWU leadership is and that is inflict there own views, I dont know the answer but i dont need to :wave but for my wife's future I would vote no and yes I have read the agreement and yes we were MC staff. perhaps we should have a thread for those that have read it hehe

red herring

how about unlimited delivery spans, unspecified conduct code, unspecified performance standards and general untrustworthiness of management

Thats why i dont buy this s**t about saving jobs because you need full time jobs to do the job.

And what a mealy-mouthed reply that is! What exactly does he mean by most? 95%? 51%?

Of course most deliveries will finish by half past 2 and then 10 minutes back to the D.O and the other 20mins of your break.
It's just smoke and mirrors and still a 3pm finish which ever way you cut it. :hmmmm

Nothings changed, you come in, work your hours and then if the delivery isn't completed it becomes their problem,

How else do you think rm will go about the 75/25 split? bye bye 4% of the part time staff.
