Because in 3 years time I will be on nearly £400 a week, which I consider a decent wage for the job I do. The absorption of D2D into workload makes up for the loss of a few quid each week initially, as it will make my working day easier, as more time prepping them in RM's time, means less time out on delivery.

Come in on time, have your break and cut off if necessary. We won't get a better deal.

Cutting off will not work under the new agreement.
If i was a manager with this agreement to play with i would be having a ball.
If for example your new duty is given an optimum delivery span of 4hrs and you repeatedly cutt off.
I would simply sit down with the rep and discuss the possible reasons.

1. You are not performing to standard.
2. The prep is too long so i would either take you of IPS earlier to ensure the prep was completed and absorb the IPS within the group or have someone else prep it.
3. The delivery element is too long in which case i would change the duty structure to an optimum 4.5hr delivery because delivery span is an enabler. :hmmmm

Now if you can show me anything in the agreement that can stop a manager doing this please tell.

And I AM on nearly £400 a week, which I consider a decent wage for the job I do.
But if the agreement is accepted it will take me 3 years to get back to what i have now. :cuppa

Doesn't matter how we vote our union rep stood up today and told us even if we vote No RM are bringing it all in anyway. With the CWU batting for the other side now im just gonna vote no to have a clear concience. Look forward to your saturdays going bye bye.

So even if you are one of the "majority" who get 1 in 4 off.
Are you looking forward to the other 3 in 4. :cuppa

And do you know exactly how this will work and what you'll have to do to make this possible?

To make the 1 in 4 saturdays off possible on the 3 in 4 you will be delivering your own round ( mailsort, d2d et al) plus at least 1/6 of another round. Saturdays will be a normal working day after the deal so we will be delivering until 3 or 4 pm with the enforced later starts so bye bye family friendly saturdays.

Saturday's have been the busiest day in our office for months and months, so it will be no real shock. The other half will just have to do something else for a couple of hours until I finish, but I'll gladly do a couple of hours extra to get more complete saturdays off.

To be honest I'm getting sick of people moaning. If you don't like it, get another job.

People have different reasons to moan Lou,you don't mind the saturdays, others do.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

By the same token, if you're sick of other workers moaning, why don't you get another job? :wave
