Hey! I want my question answered! If the do majority vote no, what will happen next as I have absolutely no confidence in the CWU of getting a better deal.

The CWU do not get you a deal.
Royal Mail offer a deal and the CWU negotiates around it.
What would happen next would depend on how badly RM wants an agreement to implement the massive changes planned.
In my opinion Royal Mail want one very badly.
But to be honest the probable outcome of a no vote would be some alterations to the present deal.
Enough to make a difference....Who knows?
Yes I think they will tinker with it at the edges specificly the D2D issue and then present it again.
If the answer for the d2d issue is more money then where is that going to be taken from?

The deal commits RM to no profit for the next 3 years as everything will be reinvested in the benefits package therefore and increase in the supplement would mean robbing peter to pay paul

When you say tinker with the edges, do you see anymore money being offered on the D2D issue or a set of easy to understand and realistic conditions being set out with regards to D2D's? What about our Colleague Shares being replaced with the lumps sums? Surely this is little short of criminal. Is there any other issue you feel Royal Mail/CWU could tinker with in the agreement?

What I think they should do is a complete rewrite of the agreement but TBH I recognise it won't happen.

In the world of realpolitik if there is a No vote returned RM and the CWU will sit down and see how the different functions voted and based on that move money around to try and change the next vote into a Yes. If they think its needed they will also try and improve or tie down other parts of he agreement how much they move and how much tweaking happens will all depend on a NO vote and the size of it as well.

What parts of the deal do you feel can be tinkered with lovejoy? Cause surely something has to give. This agreement can not go through the way it presently sits.

There's your answer to
If the do majority vote no, what will happen next as I have absolutely no confidence in the CWU of getting a better deal.
If the answer for the d2d issue is more money then where is that going to be taken from?

What happens if with the current agreement a no vote is returned. Royal Mail and the CWU sit down change a few things here and there and put it to the vote and again it's a no. What happens next? Does Royal Mail and the CWU keep sitting down until they get an agreement with a yes vote?

Well the true test will as always be the vote mate. From what I hear the anti voices at these local reps briefs are very few and that most reps have got their heads around things...... whether this is reflected in the membership is another thing.

lovejoy if this agreement does go through then I feel my relationship with the CWU has come to the end. There is walks in my office which are anything from 20 mins to 1 hour over their time. Royal Mail tell us the computer says it can be done so it must be able to be done. They won't test the walks physically cause they know they are too big. How can you ask me to trust Royal Mail to give me the time to deliver unlimited D2D items without my health or safety being compromised when they can't even get the walks right?

Thats why every tool will be nationally rolled out under this agreement with no local variations allowed.

Trust is the key to it all............ but if we vote it out on that basis then when will we ever vote something in?

I trusted the Royal Mail and the CWU in 2007 and 2009 for the now infamous interim agreement. It's hard to keep trusting someone that keeps letting you down lovejoy.

It's as the old saying goes......

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
