Re: d2d change to payments - CWU made decisions
please pass on a message from me
we will never accept that part time workers will receive less than us for the same work
something the union should have had at number 1 on their list
oh and we would rather stay as we are than accept this deal
go back to the table and get us something we can vote on
if this deal gets in then they may not have a union at all

Re: d2d change to payments - CWU made decisions
Anyone going to the meeting do me a favour and ask this Question :
Will one off or both CWU leaders both come out to a local office and do the Post for a week, which they why be forced to take out all the Dutys D2Ds on the Saturday..! (Make sure it's a P/T Duty they're on) fingers crossed they get shafted.. And Post up the answer ASAP.

My understanding from some of the people on here posting to push the deal, is that RM told them how much was available and the union decided how to distribute it.
I wasn't defending the decision, just saying that I thought it was common knowledge that the union decided how to spread the cash.

The set up of the meetings is very relaxed from what I hear and every rep is encouraged to have their say.
So get in there and have your say

If he does side track you or anyone else, ask him if he doesn't like RMC, ask him if he finds it too militant - and if he does, tell him it was militants that pulled the Union's nuts out of the fire last year, in the face of EA & B&H & they'll do again in the face of HQ's appeasement to RMMoNkEyBoY wrote:Real michael no gun sorry but i will be wearing a red rose on my left lapel.
No worries about me having my say ive got a big gob i will give RMC another mention tomorrow as i did at our AGM and billy then side tracked me.

Re: d2d change to payments - CWU made decisions
Can someone expain to me why the CWU decided to distribute D2D money to people who dont do them?
Would have made sense to give the supplement purely to those that do them thus increasing the renumeration.
Or is this the key to getting a yes vote. Do the people who dont do d2d but will recieve the supplement make the difference?

Re: d2d change to payments - CWU made decisions
D2Ds was raised at the meeting today and the CWU said they would make no apologies for there reasoning on doing what they have.
They have said that incorporating D2Ds into your daily workload will protect future jobs .D2Ds in there eyes are a dwindling business at present as R/M has had a 9% decline in contracts since 1998 and TNT have now over taken R/M as the biggest distributor of D2Ds. Also the guaranteed payment of £20.60 as most of you are aware is for 52 weeks of the year due to the decline in D2Ds thanks to TNT the union say they are acting now and securing a payment for all postal workers just in case in the future R/M lose out altogether so in theres eyes they are striking whilst the iron is hot. Also when it comes to a pegasus (georoute) D2Ds now has to be fed into the system and walk times plotted on that basis .
If this agreement is back healed by the members at present in Dave wards words they have no other option theres no plan B.
From what i can gather from the slides shows the D2D payment is made up of two seperate parts one part being an early shift allowance.
IE. D2Ds £12.42 E1 £8.18 = £20.60
My head is full of so much propoganda that im trying to give you lads the info the best i can remember it .
25HR contracts will get a pro-rata potrion of the £20.60 £5.20 30hr contacts will get £7.20
R/M savings over the 3 year period will be £600 million the CWU says it more to the £800 million mark
Over the 3 year period there will be 24.000 job loses with no compulsory redundancies .
Pension defecit stands at 10 billion not sure whether i misheard him on this one and its millions.
My brain is now fried lads cant type anymore but some others who attended this meeting today will be along shortly with more info and to correct anything i have posted thats incorrect.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Dont know postman nothing mentioned of trust.
One last thing TNT today launched a new service of theres called first sort thats started up in scotland were that service is an alternative to our own first class service already theres a banking corporation and hospitals using this service.
I did wonder when the scare tactics would come out .

So what happens when TNT purchase royalmail for a pittance and all the work comes flooding back for £20.60p?.MoNkEyBoY wrote:D2Ds was raised at the meeting today and the CWU said they would make no apologies for there reasoning on doing what they have.

Re: d2d change to payments - CWU made decisions
Once TNT have there hands on R/M there wont be £20.60 and all our working conditions will be gone.
I do know one thing all delivery reps are going to be so busy soon and everything in the agreement is being left down to local level. I think this is not rite dont forget union reps are normal postmen doing a thank less job, there will come a point in time were they are blamed for how there office takes shape if this agreement is accepted.

Even NEW Labour have committed themselves to TNT so will the LIB DEMS and of course the TORY party!. So the time is right for a rebellion of postal workers for decent rights if anyone thought christmas was the time i think now we will hold more sway in any of our futures than at anytime we ever have before!.MoNkEyBoY wrote:Once TNT have there hands on R/M there wont be £20.60 and all our working conditions will be gone.
