As I see it like yourself I to am a CWU Delivery Office Health and Safety Rep, you may have been informed that it's reps only, well reps only to me means all reps in other words no distinction between Industrial Relation (Union Rep) or Health and Safety Rep. On reading the Agreement isn't the highest priority emphasised towards health and safety and it is on that basis that as Glasgow & District Amal is my Branch I will be attending the Glasgow Concert Hall on Friday. As things pan out Friday is my day off.mcboing boing wrote:There is one of these meetings in Manchester tomorrow (thurs) and also been told strictly unit reps only. My guess it is to single out the free thinking NO supporters and give them the "hard word".crockboy wrote:There's a meeting in the Glasgow Royal concert hall on Friday( I may add that place must have cost a right few quid to hire). I've just been informed that it's reps only? Can they do this? It's mine and every other CWU members fees that are paying for the place. What can they actually do to stop me getting in? I want to hear what Judas and his band of merry men have to say. How can they stop me going in? Are they going to get me arrested? Is this a Nazi party we're are members of now? Where are our democratic rights as fee paying members? I'm on holiday at the moment but have the backing of everyone in my DO to go and find out what actually gets said and not the spin from our delivery office rep. I'm actually the H&S rep, does that not count? Can anyone inform me of how to get in? Are there like bouncers on the doors? "Yar names not on the list you're not getting in?" " I don't like your shoes, you're not getting in?" " You're shirts not ironed well enough?" "You've had too much to drink?" Any info is appreciated.

Doesn't matter if your a rep or not, crash it who's gonna kick you out? Certainly i'd defend any member who turned up to a meeting and wanted to observe it, most reps would.brothermagrew wrote:As I see it like yourself I to am a CWU Delivery Office Health and Safety Rep, you may have been informed that it's reps only, well reps only to me means all reps in other words no distinction between Industrial Relation (Union Rep) or Health and Safety Rep. Butter doesnt melt with Dave Ward, hes a great speaker he could convince Margaret Thatcher to join a union. But the fact is its the London Division leaders who defend him or keep mum at least so that he doesn't lose the support of his base. What are they all saying about the deal?

Due to unforseen circumstances will not now be going to Glasgow Concert Hall for CWU Reps meeting but will look forward presumably to be updated on RMC on how things progressed.
