It's ok. You're right though, "we're all doomed" (spoken in a pretty thick scottish accent)midvillain wrote:i'm sorry, i didn't mean to be overly flippant. i know what you're saying, and i agree 100%. i'm aching all over after most shifts as well.mrbungle wrote:midvillain wrote:ha ha! it is mainly doom and gloom merchants, like. similar to the football forum i go on, there's a small minority of positive types, but mainly whingers and told you so type people who enjoy a bit of schadenfreude. most of them go strangely quiet after a good game. i thought it was just our fans were like that, but i guess it's the internet in general. i always think of the scottish one from dad's army. is it frazer? dooomed.
I've been with Royal Mail for 20 years. When I started I was at the bottom, I had to do all the crappy deliveries but better the devil you know I say. I knew that there was to be changes, but I expected there to be changes that incorporate our health. The last 5 years have seen big changes but I feel these changes have not taken into consideration our health in that we are seriously overburdened with weight over too long a delivery. I can't see myself being in this business for too much longer because of this. I know I'm getting older but after delivery, my arms ache, my legs throb, not to mention the stress inflicted by my line manager who is getting pressure by his manager to save pennies. At least the top level management get their bonus eh? For all our hard work. I wouldn't call myself a whinger, I just see things as they really are.

Re: DFS!
most people on this forum will think i'm naive, but i'm hoping they've seen the error of their ways, and things will improve as far as workload goes.surely they must realise that they need a motivated workforce to do the job properly, and they want avoid future industrial action, and limit work related injuries etc, which are damaging to them financially. if not, i will probably have to look for a different job in a couple of years when i won't be able to cope anymore. i'll be gutted, to be honest.
