I don't mind doing d2d's as I go to most houses anyway and worst bit is prepping them.
pay rise is 2% so £203.35 a year
so....£805.90 per year increase...or 12.62%
25 hours would be £895.44

Get that sent off to CWU HQ straight away - even they haven't managed to come up with 12.62% in any scenariotheboropostie wrote:d2d payment is £1071.20 so I will get £602.55 - at the moment I get jack s**t! I don't mind doing d2d's as I go to most houses anyway and worst bit is prepping them.

Re: part timers.
OK then Debbie. Enlighten me. If you can work the maths any differently then let me know.
As I see it that's what I will be better off as a part timer who doesn't have a fixed walk so misses out on d2d payment's.
Have I not, in part, answered the original question?

Re: part timers.
Don't you do 20% on the walk you are on ? i get three lots a week = about £27 so even taking in to consideration weeks off i will still be about £10 a week down .theboropostie wrote:OK then Debbie. Enlighten me. If you can work the maths any differently then let me know.![]()

Re: part timers.
1. you're supposed to do 20% each day, even on a cover walk, if the regular does them then lucky you.
2. In future do you think your regular will want to do the 20% for no payment?? That could be 3, 4, 5 or even 6 lots of 20% per day.
If you're that bothered smoggie, you can come to Newcastle and do mine if the agreement goes through.
I'll even pay your fare on the X10.

Re: part timers.
uprising asked what the deal would mean for part timers.
I have given an example of what will happen to me.
I know your suppoed to do 20% per day but the reallity in my office is that the postie who's walk it is will take the lot out on a Monday, crack them off and that's that.
I have brought it up in the past and been told that's the way it is.
So the reality of it for ME would be that on 22.5 hours with no current d2d I would be, financially, better off.
At no point, until now, have I said which way I will vote but unless someone comes up with a better reason that banging on about d2d's then it's a yes from me.
For a 25 hour contract d2d payment will be £12.88 per week.
Anyway, I'm off for a pint

Re: part timers.
Don't forget you will also be voting for 3pm daily finish including Sats plus you WILL be doing 20% d2d from now on because the FT'er won't be getting paid for each item so has NO incentive to do them all. For any other PT'er currently doing d2d this deal is a disaster.

Re: part timers.
I'm at a loss as to how this guy hasn't been doing d2d.I cover holiday leave these days, but before that I had 700 calls and averaged £30-40 a week on d2d,now it varies, but it's not much less.opgpat wrote:Don't forget you will also be voting for 3pm daily finish including Sats plus you WILL be doing 20% d2d from now on because the FT'er won't be getting paid for each item so has NO incentive to do them all. I'd crack up if I wasn't getting my 20% a day money, which, come to think of it,is what they want me to vote for....

Re: part timers.
this is what i will lose if the agreement goes ahead
im on a 24 hr contract on a set walk
current d2d's
3 lots average £27 x 46 weeks =£1242
new agreement £12 x 52 weeks=£624
so ive lost £618 quid and also now have to do unlimited door to doors not the set 3.
thanks union u really make me feel better off and secure noW!
