To get to a 75/25 split PT would have to be made up without the need for a FT to leave, therfore creating more FT jobs.

Now do i think this will happen, WELL MAYBE NOT
I understand what you are saying but the 75/25 split is national not local.
At the moment nationally it stands at 79/21 so it would require a reduction in full time working of 4% if nobody left the business.
It may well be that some areas see a slight increase in the full-time ratio but this will have to be balanced elsewhere leaving a net reduction of 4%.
Basically what i am saying is you cannot have an increase in full-time jobs if your final aim is to reduce the workforce and incease the percentage of part-timers.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Now when thinking about FT/ PT ratio of you have to remember that its RM wide? Not office by office or MC RDC, City offices like London ect and MC RDCs will be almost 95% FT whilst your average or small office will take the cuts to even it out. If you think i am wrong then think about all those MC and RDCs closing and then trying to make those workers travel 30 + miles up the road to their new job on PT hours. Its never going to happen! Use London DOs as a case in point where its all High dense housing that requires a full time Postman to throw in a 900 + walk because the volume is there for the indoor element and all of a sudden you are looking at cuts in your town village ratio to bring the average to 75- 25%. If? That was the case NO WONDER if i was say a London senior REP sell the deal as the best we could get so vote YES! I could be wrong of course but looking at all past deals its not the biggest group but the loudest that get the goods and the rest that pay! Tight Union is it not?
CONDEMNATION.

I feel like taking out the word CWU and replacing it with Royal Mail, as it could easily have come from a Royal Mail PR department!
It probably did :left: :left: :left:

If the D2D market is declining then how can Royal Mail expect to see growth in that area?

Oh yea, by bagging all the cash from our D2D pay cut thats how!

Fcuk the CWU. Two faced sell out fcuks.

Just to correct you its not the D2D market that's declining but Royal Mail share of it. If anything the market is growing.

This statement is wrong in it it says "time will be built in for the use of cars and trollys". so who is lying our leaders or the north east, the proposed national agreement says that cars are banned. who the f### do we believe.

BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION 2010 (DELIVERIES)
The agreement has now been published following 3-months of negotiations. We are going to try and simplify the logic around the national agreement on deliveries.
Delivery Spans;- Will be negotiated locally, this is a fantastic opportunity for us in the North East to create more full time jobs. The Health and safety of everyone is paramount to the negotiations and all elements of a delivery walk will be looked at to ensure everyone’s health and safety at work is guaranteed.
THERE WILL BE NO MAXIMUM DELIVERY SPAN!!!!
Health and Safety;- The agreement ensures everyone will have a safe working environment and that weight over the shoulder will literally be a thing of the past. The agreement ensures that all “tools for the job” will be available to ensure that delivery methods will be introduced with the revisions. The two preferred methods for delivery will be using high capacity trolley’s for deliveries within a mile of the office and car derived vans for duties more than a mile away from the office.

you'll be taking all the packets.
The walk spans will be what fits the office best taking into account mail arrival patterns and local situations. Time will be built in to use cars or trolleys and as such a natural 3.5 hour span increases because of slower walking speeds, increased attendance call rate and the replenishment of mail from boxes or the van without even delivering to any more houses.
It will almost like being on holiday, when you are doing longer deliveries. :chuckle
The revision Process;- The agreement now ensures there is full involvement of the CWU throughout the revision. The process ensures that joint objectives are agreed right from the start so we can introduce more full time working and more Saturday’s off with innovative duty patterns.
The temporary revision process prevents RM introducing revisions under EA, it expiers in 2013! please make a note in your diary this is when we will be asked "to save the union" again with another national strike, i'm off down the bookies to check the odds. :chuckle
Early Shift allowance (grandfather rights):-The agreement transforms current shift payments into basic pay. Yes this is controversial however, please be aware that the following is a fact. Every time someone left the business with grandfather rights on their early shift allowance that money was lost entirely for the Union Royal Mail “bagged” all of the savings from that. In a nutshell the outgoing payments for the grandfather rights was diminishing rapidly £3 million last year alone! The union had to make a decision to trap as much as this as possible and put it into basic pay or lose it forever.
Don't remmember the grandfather rights being sold like that in 2007, even although it was just as obvious then.

•We have an opportunity to shape the success of the industry through vastly improved agreed revision processes.
•We have an opportunity to increase the amount of Saturdays our members can have off across the forthcoming years.
•We have an opportunity to safeguard our future.
•We have an opportunity to increase basic pay year on year.
•Your support so far has been fantastic and the CWU are doing everything possible to safeguard the future of your jobs and our industry for the long term future.
.We have a temporary revision process.
.The CWU is safe, keep paying your subs.
.God knows what terms and conditions we are going to sign away for the next pay rise, since you now have none left.
.I bet you never thought you would be striking for this!
Your Choice, Your Future!
Please think carefully about the agreement take time to understand the overall aim of the agreement, which is to safeguard your jobs, your future and our industry in a difficult economic and commercial climate.

So if the market is growing why would the CWU undermine our earning potential and sign away the payment for these items for a £20.06 supplement inc ESA?

Its this type of gaffe that makes my blood boil.

Our office the split is about 50\50, but thought the 75\25 split in the agreement referred to the business as a whole, not individual offices.

At present the vast majority of members get one Saturday off in six. The agreement now gives us a fantastic opportunity to increase that to at least 1 in 4 Saturday’s off
Utter, utter tripe. The Agreement DOES NOT in ANYWAY guarantee delivery workers 1 in 4 Sats off. You can request it yes. OK, well you can request that now. What's changed?

This makes me feel sick comming from Union members. HOW THE FU*K can unlimited delivery spans be healthy and safe? Even if you are carrying only 1 bundle (which will never happen) 5 hours of walking through gates and up stairs 5 days a week will fu*k up your body.

Vote 'NO' to this Agreement and Vote 'FO you self-interested scum' to the CWU top brass.
