Delivery staff have been making 2 hours a day, indoor staff have to work to the final minute. All night allowance use to be pensionable, until an agreement voted on by one and all halved it so basic pay for all went up . Indoor staff have prepped deliverys for ages but never get part of d2d. Or is it the old chestnut you choose to work indoors so tough.
Yes, it's a choice you make, indoors or outdoors, but surely the CWU should have negotiated us outdoor delivery staff a bad weather payment supplement. :Very Happy

Spi i wasnt having a go at P/T was just pointing out that there is time well in our D/O for them to go on the sorting although this is not in there contracted hours. I was trying to higlight that too much is expected of F/T whilst others get away it . Now heres a scenario for everyone when it comes to sorting test those that never go on the sorting wont be tested (common sense) so why should anyone be tested discrimination against part of its work force and A/Gs well 6 hr contracted ones are suposed to go on the sorting of a saturday as the majority are all on the same time.

Postman Yes i am the rep in my D/O and i have raised these points with many managers at a very high level ( Directors ) who visited our office during our strike action last year from cardiff. I also know that this thread has nothink to do with the ongoings in our D/Os in regards to what i wrote earlier. I was mearly pointing out the fact that all agreements end up with delivery getting shafted the most and this led me onto to a totally un-related rant. Im under no illusions that in the coming months/years all parts of R/M are in for a shafting i was only speaking from a delivery sect.

Nothing has changed and these are points i bring up in my resourcing meetings week in week out and now its time for me to go to disagreement over them.

I know what response i will get phgs "They are to busy" Drivers " Yes we know we will look into it" A/Gs " Not in there contract" blah blah blah the same old bull s**t .Is it down to me to prove they do have time etc etc if it is why dont i just become a fecking manager ( Never in a million years i like my roots)

monkeyboy i aint having a dig but can i say if you are a rep why would you be encouraging p/t staff to do work not included in thier 318?. why would you not be at resource meetings demanding more f/t staff if as you say you need more on ips/packets, this is one of the big gripes i have with the current climate too many f/t staff moan and groan that p/t staff are doing nothing while they either dual prep or ips, and it was the same mouths that moaned and groaned to be made full time but now they are there its the pull the ladder up mentality, what should be happening is everybody doing thier own job and not looking at who finishes when and who does what.

Spi countless times do i bring up in resourcing meetings the pathetic 5/6 hr contracts R/M now put people on. I have had 5 A/G contracts made up to more hours but not to F/T hours.

If management didnt home in on F/T staff like they do there would be no need to look around to see whos doing what and i agree with you that people should only worry about what they are doing but unfortunately in R/M they have created a culture we there is in house fighting and they love it.

Until these contracts are changed this culture will continue to exist but to try and get these contracts changed is near impossible as R/M are only concerned in cut backs and not fully resourcing there local D/Os .
