Union Rules Query ?

Post by Cybitech »

I'm wondering if anyone knows where the union stand regarding the sending of offensive texts by a picketting union member, to a non picketing, non-member ?

I know of such a thing happening, thats why i ask ?

I would have thought, inside work it is harrassment. Outside work, it would be a Police matter?.

I think RM, if they found out, would try to class this as harrassment and pursue through the conduct code. This has happened in our area and the sender got compulsary transferred to a different DO. It wasn't over strike action but a personal difference and happened outside of work. Tell the sender to be careful because the DUM's would love nothing more than to potentially dismiss someone over a dispute situation.

1) In life s**t happens,just ignore it

2) Get them to join the union go on strike and my guess the " so called abuse " just might stop if damage has not already been done.

If it happens outside, but is work related, then it's both, police and potential disciplinary
