Re: A question for Dingo, Lovejoy or The Truth:
Vote no and a few others may do the same but the vast majority will back this. Just deal with it, cut your throat or come up with an affordable and realistic alternative, but otherwise stop bleating about how unfair it is.
I'm not a CWU fan but I do understand the 'unity' thing and bleating about a small cut in pay to protect more of your colleagues jobs and seeing more union involvement is a SMALL price to pay. If you can't see that then you have no place in a union any way which is, I understand, about the majority not the singular. There is an assumption by some on here that if you hold a viewpoint, you won't agree with those with an opposite viewpoint on ALL things. On this I agree with Lovejoy and given the amount of time he has put in on RMC, it is disappointing, although not surprising, to find that so called 'unity' does not exist with some of you. Its all self, self, self.

When the result is announced and IF it's a yes vote, I and many others opposed to the agreement will "deal with it", or choose to make other arrangements. Until that day arrives, we are entitled to "bleat", just as you are entitled to give your ill informed opinions on unity.

Re: A question for Dingo, Lovejoy or The Truth:
What!, bully boy tactics? I would absolutely relish the idea of a face to face debate - because the EYES have it, that and the shifty look.lovejoy wrote:So the national union will just 'go back in with acas and re-negotiate'
I'll tell you what I won't respond to this because its unbelievable.
If you really want a debate PM me your office and I can see my reps and hopefully they can get someone up to you for a face to face debate.
The argument is sound a NO vote brings status quo - nothing changes except by local agreement and then it goes to disagreement if not resolved - the problem with that is you have area and div reps without the bottle for a fight and fear RM more than they fear the membership not voting them in to there nice llittle earner at the next election.
If RM bring deals in by EA so much the better because you cannot be held responsible for something that isn't agreed - and lets face it what would change from the situation now EXCEPT we wouldn't lose the money on D2D because the 1996 agreement holds sway - no payee, no takee.
Still you have to give lovejoy credit, he certainly spends a lot of time on here when the union want to sell something - wonder why that could be - he's a little like rip van winckel - no sign then suddenly wakes up when there are decisions to be made - and controversial ones too like 2007 - I just hope he isn't the only one to wake up.

Night tonic,
You always appear when someone makes a strong argument against the official line.
I can't be the only one who has noticed this.
Most of your posts could be replaced by " For God's sake, don't be ridiculous (this person must be completely mad)" In every collaborating office there is a person like you whose function is to shout down and denigrate any opposition.
How much are they paying you?

'no one has to question that night tonic as we already know where your at
'stooge' i think covers it
as for lovejoy question for you ...just why is the cwu holding it's own membership to ransome over this pitiful aggrement as you state there's no plan 'b'
and if the vote is no are billy whizz and dynamo dave going to do the right thing and abdicate from there thrones ? we pay your wages we have the right to vote 'no' and if theres no scope to go and redress the issues then it really is time for a change of leadership and that goes for ALL the members of the pec as well new blood new ideas ones which aspire to the wishes to those who elect them and pay the wages

Rockytony67,
You always seem to show up when Night tonic is called in.
Does anyone else notice this pattern?

My point is why do you always post when the union line is challenged?
Do you have a free opinion or do you prefer not to think?

Re: A question for Dingo, Lovejoy or The Truth:
i just think this agreement has not gone far enough i think that we should have had some sort of bonus scheme ie going back to the 50 50 scheme or something else .
rm r making a lot of profit in certain offices and the staff are getting nowt even tho the have made local savings
in my office we are underspent by 13 000 who gets that money not me or my colleagues it is a disgrace that we are not getting a bonus but rm manager will
i think we would gain a lot more by avin a bonus scheme than this shambolic £20.60 supp
wot r ur views on this

Let's throw this in the mix.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yes but it is not a place they will go to unless all other avenues have been exhausted.
They know the consequences of imposed change,we all do.
The "RM will just bring it in" brigade have no idea just how costly trying to force through change can be.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
