RE: National Agreement
As part of our communications plans it has been agreed that to enable local reps to understand the agreement fully briefings will be held next week for local representatives. This is early notification and Royal Mail has agreed release. Venue and arrangements will be confirmed in due course.

Various branches will have meetings on the agreement,London's is on the 25th.

Will they be helping them understand using the rehabilitation method used in a clockwork orange. If our spokesperson has a hard sell at an office meeting i think i might start whisteling the 5th.

Our branch already knows the feelings of the members, its a big NO vote no matter how they want to brainwash them.

Glasgow & District's on Friday next week in Paisley.........here we again its a great deal and when management ignore it your on your f***ing own.Few words to this Branch visit the offices you ignore and sell it yourself am sure there's members are wanting to speak to you.

The union has reached an agreement that every unit rep will be released to attend a divisional meeting where Dave Ward , Bob Gibson and other PEC members will be present to explain the agreement and take questions. Every rep will have the opportunity to make their views known and the CWU HQ will have the chance to answer. This is better then DVDS or any other form of communication. In addition Branch`s will hold committee and membership meetings.

This is the most important decision members will ever make. Relying on this site and your precieved understanding of the agreeement is not the same as having those words and meanings explained. Remember these talks took 4 months and the every section was debated with assistance from Roger Poole and Peter Harwood from ACAS. Some posters are concerned about the 3rd year pay rise being open for re negoation but it was the CWU who wanted that clause because inflation may go up. Royal Mail have already agreed their financial plan with 3.5 in the last year.

I realise some on here would always criticise the union but at least every rep will be able to ask questions and reprsent your views to the leadership.

With all these briefings still to be arranged and with the CWU wanting the government to commit to resolving the pension deficit if a yes vote is achieved, when will the briefings take place and is there a date for the ballot to begin?

The briefings starts on Tuesday in the South West and end of the 25th March in London,. I believe there is a meeting on the pension issue this week with the Govenment. I have no details on the ballot timetable as yet.
