Re: The facts on London Postion
It is possible in addition to basic pay and door to door barons normally sub contract the work out even getting their kids to do them hardly a trade union principle.

£96000 divided by 1.67p per item equals roughly 5748502 items delivered per year!!!!
5748502 items delivered per year / 52 weeks 110548 items per week!!!!
110548 items per week divided by 3 36849 delivery points per week!!!
36849 Delivery points divided by 60 hours equals 614 delivery points per hour!!!
614 delivery point per hour equals 10 delivery points per minute!!!
thats 1 door every 6 seconds
Firstly i goto to say thats not even remotely possible
Secondly and more importantly have team GB signed this guy up for the london olympic marathon yet? if not why not?

Re: The facts on London Postion
I am much more interested in the London members position with regards to the agreement than the London Divisional Committee's position.
How do you feel the frontline troops have reacted to this deal dingo?

every walk in my office gets between two and three items per week, not the one as dingo making out and the 96k
no matter the outcome on mon or thurs, local delivery/unit reps will be recommending a NO VOTE here in london, we did 19 days of action down here and damn are we just gonna lay down and take a pay cut without a fight!!!!!!

Re: The facts on London Position
Is it not a measure of how much we can trust Royal Mail to abide by "2010 and beyond" that London has to hold a gun to our employers head just to get them to abide by the 4 month old "interim agreement"?
What will we do when we no longer have a gun dingo?

Re: The facts on London Position
as a result of last years action in London door to door quality is on the floor in London with many postcodes not getting more than 1 door to door. Plus in some offices we have door to door barons , 3 employee wages were above 80 000 pounds with one at 96 000 who delivered all the door to door for an office. One employee even had a frame in his house.
.That was for one indivdual who was a door to door baron for the period of 2008 /2009. He was not the highest in the UK thou !!
Tosh!
If there were so few D2Ds in a Postcode area then this is not possible! Unless you're talking about the period 2009 /2010. Then this "baron" must be gutted this last year!

Also to use what a couple (if it was true) of individuals get up to across the country as a negotiating point in discussions shows some naivety.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: The facts on London Postion
For the record it is not bullshit or bolloxs. We are regularly presented with the wage levels including the highest earners. In addition I have had to reprsent many an opg who has been accused of fraudlantly claiming door to door and we know of very high profile cases where the IB have found a lot of items. There was such a case in a South West London office last year. This indivudual was doing the door to door of most of the office and had a frame in his home authorised by a manager and work was being dropped around his house.SWIM wrote:going on your past performance...*pinch of salt*dingo wrote:That was for one indivdual who was a door to door baron for the period of 2008 /2009. Now it is remarkable that every indivudual claims they do 3 items on door to door every single week when the reality is that the average is just 2.1. In addition if you look at the presentation thread and you see the grid of the country you will see many postcodes in red who either dont do them or the quality is poor.
When we meet the reps in London we will have the list office by office of the amount of door to door payments people made last year including the number and lets have an honest debate.
If London improves its quality and reliability in door 2 door there is a real opportunity to grow the product and safeguard jobs. In addition any growth in revenue will allow the CWU on door to door the opportunity to increase the supplement further.

£96K A D2D baron?, more like a made up employee by the DOM to cover undelivered D2D's, balancing the books or garnishing they call it
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Just keep on walking down never ending streets
