Would have helped if the rep actually named the sweary word as we may be able to come up with an angle on it.

When you say swearing AT him how do you mean.Swearing IN an argument is less serious than swearing AT him.

That's not f***ing right...

PPP? Public Private Partnership? That great cost saving idea, ( beloved of corporationalists like Brown, Blair, Darling, Mandelson, Cameron, Osbourne, Clarke, et al ) where the private companies obtain a guarneteed rate of return that is higher than the Govt's bond rate, while the public sector maintains the majority of income risk - or to put it in plain English, the corporations & bosses get the gold mine & the tax payer gets the shaft.........no wonder you won't join the Union, you're just slightly to the right of Maggie Thatcher! :left:

Thing is when you swore at him did you call him/her a silly banker and was it the truth or was it a lie because you know what they say the truth always hurts, problem with these managers they are so easy to upset :Very Happy

You could always try claiming you are a diabetic and the incident occured during the middle of a hypo.
You would then be covered by the DDA and in theory you could swear at him more often with impunity.(unless he proves you were failing to control your condition properly)
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Told my useless dim very nicely where to go,gave me 5 mins to calm down and then had me in office for a gross misconduct interview. He had his boyfriend witness and I got 2 year serious.Looking back I should have thumped the idiot one and taken my chances that way.

Sidewinder,

You should know when to put things in writing.

This is RM not the vicar's tea party. Of course there's going to be some 'Lord Mayorin'.

You should have grievanced him before he had a chance to put in the gross misconduct charge. You might still have a chance.

Good luck.

I have just put in a tribunal claim for unfair dismissal last year. A manager accused me of violent and threatening behavior which was later changed to aggressive behavior, but because I have a two year serious on my record for aggressive behavior towards another manager they dismissed me.
I was innocent then and I am innocent now. It turns out the manager involved in my dismissal along with the investigating manager and another manager lied and deceived me regarding a serious grievance that had been ongoing since April of last year. The formal grievance that had been brought out was never finalized despite numerous requests from me and it turns out the manager who falsely accused me of violent behavior had disposed of the grievance.
I am not in the union since coming out of it earlier in 2007 after being in it for 5 years when I heard that some new union reps had threatening phone calls and damage done to their cars when they replaced the existing reps. The new reps stood down and the old ones stood again and got elected.
I have just found out through the ACAS grievance and discipline at work paper that I should have been allowed witnesses to back up my statements during the case. This never happened in the previous case either, also I found out that after the investigatory meetings their should have been a disciplinary hearing which there wasn't and neither was their on the first case either.
Be careful out their.
