Re: CHANGE UNION
We should adopt the French Farmers and Haulages union leader as they know how to protest and fight.
ie block the port or burn down whatever.

Re: CHANGE UNION
This is a very valid question - why should we stand by incapable jokers shafting us right up? The deal wasn't this bad BEFORE the four months of talks.

No pay rise no supplement and shift allowance given its notice in 2007 to cease upon pay restructuring !!!! We voted for the shift allowance change in 2007. The membership gave a mandate

Re: CHANGE UNION
So Unite know how to get things done , is that why they offered BA a pay cut in their latest set of talks.

Re: CHANGE UNION
Love this Dingo...so what was last years pay freeze and the below inflation (probably) "rises" in the next three and then the DTD fiasco....?????dingo wrote:Unite you are joking they have just offered two pay cuts for the next two years.Dogs of War wrote:Unite know how to get things done.
PCS would love the MTSF deal which we have as the Government has just ripped up theirs.
Can you not grasp that no pay rise or below inflation pay rises are CUTS????
So what is the difference between what you are advocating people to accept and what Unite has done?

I only know what is happening with the PCS dispute is what I read in the press.dingo wrote:PCS would love the MTSF deal which we have as the Government has just ripped up theirs.
But from that it seems that the PCS had a better VR deal than us - a maximum of 3 years redundancy pay
as opposed to the maximum 2 years VR we get. The Government want to limit theirs to 2 years money too.
But at least the PCS are fighting this.

Re: CHANGE UNION
I think you only need a small amount of people in just your office to seek new representation so say 10 out of 100 of you could be repped by someone else could be more could be less not sure on that but when you have an employer who just keeps on saying theres no money to give out coz of falling vols etc etc what do you do then it doesnt matter who negociates with them the paydeal was always going to be crap as will the paydeals in the future because the pension is in such a mess any monies they make will on the main have to go into that for the next million years.Thats the future for us in this job if any 1 wants too make more money for themselves i think there better off trying to find that from another employer because there will never be any chance of that working for these K***s.The aim of our employer is not as :lfo said to close the gap for us on national average pay but to try and get every1 part time one day and get the wage closer to minimum wage rather than the national average wage. How many times have they said we are underworked and overpaid that in it self is not a good sign and my manager is constantly telling me that in the mailcentre we get a cracking wage compared to most factory jobs in the region and because of this i should do the work of 2 people every night.cityfc wrote:Why not write a letter or email to another union, say Unison, asking if they would be prepared to represent Royal Mail workforce. If enough people wrote in, then we might just get a union who will actually look after our best interests, and we can tell this bunch of arrogant idiots where to go.

Re: CHANGE UNION
Think you would have to consider the legal issues around recognition. Which if I remember is something like 2/3 of the workforce signing up to the chosen union. No good having union membership if legally the employer doesn't have torecognise said union, although some might argue would it make much difference! The problem we could have is that it would be argued we already have a recognised TU... (just one that is no longer recognised by many of it's members!)
I still vote for TGWU, although I just checked and I see they have been sucked up into Unite!

Re: CHANGE UNION
RMT-spoke to one of their reps today and he said he feels gutted for us-' your leadership have treated you like lepers and then gave in on every single issue'.He couldnt understand why a well supported strike could have ended in a deal this bad.
