I'm quite prepared to work all my hours (which I usually do anyway) and even clock on and off every day. There's no way RM would want to introduce that though for obvious reasons.

If you work all your hours then the deal is good for you if the D2D traffic increases then they will be forced to create shorter walks. If you are part time then they will have to offer you a full time job. If the traffic decreases then you will still be paid the supplement

How many of you that intend to vote no are currently finishing early. Does it not occur to you that his can not carry on if we are to protect our jobs we need to be prepared to accept more work , if you speak to your mates that are builders or cabbies etc do they turn away work.

Look at the job we have, paid sick paid holidays we can create duty structures that allow us to put in extra overtime to enhance our earnings and what we are saying if we vote no is we just want to go home early. Think about this if all this extra work takes you past your time we can put in more jobs. The other option is to watch our industry die

I intend to vote NO.
I work in an office with shared vehicles, no private cars on delivery, meal breaks at set times, no weight on the shoulder, a mix of duties i.e FT Prep prep deliver, FT IPS Prep Deliver, Rural, AG Prep Deliver, AG Deliver and Delivery & collections. We have had a Pegasus revision imposed by EA it did not work big time, on certain days they were paying 120 hours a day overtime and carrying 7 staff as supernumerary and then they agreed to put over half the duties back in. We work our full hours. What do we get from this deal a pay cut and greater workload. Cart Blanche for the DOM's to use their Bullying tactics again.

A word of warning to all those looking at this deal through rose tinted glasses. Beware you don't know whats going to hit you.
if you speak to your mates that are builders or cabbies are they constantly bullied over unachievable standards walk rates that Royal Marine trainers find to difficult (I know they are promising agreed levels but Dingo said it would be reduced by 2% so it's still going to be 4mph) Threats of conduct if you choose to cut off at your finish time (2007 agreement phase 3) although you legally have the right to do so, because obviously RM managers are above the law.

What we needed was definite spans, workload levels and performance levels. what we got was the CWU hierarchy pressing on with their own agenda and not listening to the members. we got a deal that is so wishy washy on every thing except rewards, where Royal Mail have screwed over the vast majority of staff.

Vote Yes at your peril as a planning team is coming to an office near you..........

15.00-5hrs 10.00-15min travelling-40mins break-1.30 to prep.
That takes you to 7.35 so at 7.35 he tells you to go prep your walk.
It is not rocket science really.

But Fish how do you prep your walk at 7.35 if the mail hasn't arrived yet?

Who says YOU will be prepping your walk? Mail according to dingo will be heading in as before but the last 40% will be later - you are out delivering packets in your park and loop van whilst your partners is prepping two deliveries - yours and his then when the last of the mail arrives you both complete the last vestiges of your deliveries - and performance? - well it better not be tardy because you will be expected to be in the top 10% - and that's not RM talking it is the CWU.

Oh yes this modern approach to deliveries is no picnic but then that's what we have been aiming for for years apparently, though no one bothered to mention it before this agreement.

Why would anyone agree to a 5hr walk?
After this agreement when local negotiations start,the walk spans will be decided,signed of,then it's set in stone.

Set in stone...no they are not ...you can negotiate a local delivery span, but that is not a maximum delivery span for the office forever more. Because you cannot have a maximum delivery span.

Even if you negotiate something good locally, RM will remove it at a future buisness savings i gaurentee it, i have made this point before, what happend to the 4 day weeks negotiated under Pay and Mod? RM removed them under a buisness savings......They will do it again.

I prepped 3 lots today on my walk and it took me 55 minutes(400 calls)

I have a feeling you will be expected to deliver a D2D every day and not as you would now eg,3 prep together and delivered over the week.
So allowing RM to give each walk six D2D a week but can RM attract this level of sales around the country.

Vote Yes if you are happy to lose money each week, work until 3 or 4pm, get a lump sum that you were already entitled to. When I signed up for this job it was a 5am start until 1pm, I for one don't want a f*cking 9-5 job if I wanted that I would've stayed sat behind a desk. Yes I could do with the extra money but my working conditions are much more important. I don't want to be walking the streets at 1-2-3pm in the height of summer. I don't want constant grief off the public because their mail is so late in arriving and thinking it's the 'lazy posties' fault because they could'nt get out of bed. The CWU should be ashamed of themselves for negiotiating this agreement

I am 22 years in the job all on delivery and I work 7.15 am to 15.15pm including Saturdays and have on many occasions been out to well after 4 pm so to finish at 1 pm haven't done that in 15 years.

When I can't complete at present, the work just gets offered to a part timer who needs the extra money, I don't see that changing. Also what makes you think they will offer the part timer a full time job, when they can get him/her to work the same hours and pay less for holidays/sick?

You bet your cotton socks they can if the price is right. Since they will be slashing your wages for delivering them they can offer a bargain basement price and still up profits by gaining volume. Better run to the hills cos there's a D2D tsunami a comin

Numan you seem to have a point about the part timers we dont have any in our office at the momment. As for them not being offered full time jobs, i think that your rep should be in, making sure that they are offered full time contracts, and not just given overtime. Because you are right in that RM doing it on the cheap when they are just paying them overtime.

I need to say that in my office most people still finish early and this is even with no one starting early and a meal break enforced by the union from 8 till 8:30.

We are currently undergoing a pegases revision, but the union have worked hard in getting across the argument that there is nothing to be gained in rushing around,it causes a degree of conflict but the majority can see the reasoning behind the argument.

I can't recall the specifics of the document but does it say they will accept specific day contracts? Surely they would be charged at a premium

Answering my question with another question.........weather or not i vote yes or no is for me to decide,being in the union i'll get that choice
