To be honest Mr Smith if the union get a yes vote and they have messed up the fair workload side of things then the rep will be singing from the same hymn sheet as the manager!This area manager has tried to get this workload/ performance based on traffic figures in a month ago and now hes back again.Has the amendment to the new agreement to continue the interim (ie no forced changes) been accepted by Royal Mail?cause our area rep wasnt aware of it.

It is one of many ridiculous statements in this agreement.
Once everyone reaches this climax of your career this mythical top 10% you cannot rest.
Because there will always be a top 10% of the top 10% of the top 10%.....etc etc.
The negotiators must have been smoking some good sh1t when they came up with that one.

I think it was that stuff for plants that is making the news just lately - they kept the negotiators in the dark fed them plant food, played psychedelic music on sitars and pushed them out of the mushroom shed into the light of day to shovel the s**t on their colleagues.

I believe you did - we've heard good things about you and Bristol . Our branch hasn't had any meetings as yet but knowing the personalities involved it is most unlikely they stuck their head out of the shell - they will be under fire tomorrow on all fronts.

Just read it! Remmember all those comments about we've done more fighting for terms than conditions than anyone else on this sites......and still doing it! and inspite of occasional sniping not just for London! i almost feel bad about disagreeing with you guys on occasion in the past.

And I'm not having a dig at anyone, but if your Reps weren't voicing your concerns, perhaps you should be
asking them why.

I have always respected Lovejoy, Dingo etc. So I ask all posters to respect their efforts on this website. Hey guys and girls, if they were not here there would be no point in having royalmailchat. I do admit I would want more of the high ranking or knowledgible union reps to participate on this site. Having said that I agree with so many posts that the senior members of CWU are not serving the members properly. The only excuse for this is political.
I am a Mail Centre rep. I am in total agreement with the delivery people. Unless the "Final" agreement is more defined I cannot see how any branch can agree to this deal. I refer to the 2007 agreement which had the same wording in that agreements would be jointly agreed but we ended up with what RM wanted in the 1st place before agreeing to it. It alright for Lovejoy, Dingo etc to point to the fact that the union will be involved. The fact is that many units do not have a union rep, those that do have elected a rep who is the only man standing,and many of those are so weak with management they have no influence at negotiation level. In my unit we have a rep deep in cohorts with management, a rep who tries to challenge mangement but has no influence at the end and a area rep who has very little support from members and bats his head against a brick wall. My point is that Lovejoy, Dingo etc are very good at their union involvement but the rest of us really are out on a limb. And the activists are being intimidated by mangement. To all posters " best of luck" when you are represented.
