the deal stinks, thats why i'll be voting NO,but sadly in my D.O the sheep follow what the rep says,he thinks the sun shines out of Billys' hole so it MUST be a YES vote,so again i will be the outsider,as i was during the last strike as my way to hurt RM without striking was deemed "to hard " to organise, the CWU is on its arse & it knows it,it can kiss mine, the 90% in my office are happy to take a drop in wages to stay 1 of the lads, makes me sick

If it could be shown that the total of D2D payments has now been shared equally amongst posties across the country wouldn't that be a fairer system? I think it's called wealth distribution and having bleated about it since the release of "White Man in the Hammersmith Palais" I think this is the first time I have actually seen it in action.

If it could be shown CCR.
Of course it can't because it hasn't been has it?
I have recieved £8.23 from the great door to door swindle.
My P/t friend on 30 hrs has recieved £15.45 from the great door to door swindle.
My full-time friend who has just been made up to 40hrs has recieved £20.60 from the great door to door swindle.
My 20hr friend has recieved £10.30 from the great door to door swindle.
My friend on the 1hr contract is too scared to look.
And my old friend in the callers office is p1ssing himself because he hasn't touched D2D for years and is wondering how to spend his £8.23

Yes it's a much fairer system. :cuppa
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

And my friend who only gets 1 D2D/ week is now getting £20.60/ week.
I don't have as many friends as you.

Yep...it helps that the usual suspects are all getting pissed at our expense in Bournemouth and are not on tonight...absolute pleasure to not see my posts being deleted and crybaby union big wigs squealing to Postman about all those nasty home truths I keep raising...anyone wants to see Lovejoy in action...he is speaking on friday to his members about how great the deal is, even though none of them have seen it....

Plenty of members in my wee part of the PE postcode area have seen it/aware of the main points. It was very simple to download and email out to members in my D.O.

Really?

I was only aware of a letter section meeting for all the IR reps which I have been granted release for, one last meeting before retirement and on to a new era of increased political activism. That reminds me I really must chase up my saftey rep to see if will take on the IR rep job, after all that was me back in 2003 saftey rep taking on IR rep role.

My bullshit detector is working fine. I didn't think the point of this forum was just for everyone to agree with everyone else.
There are other points of view. They ain't all bullshit.
And I have to say my bullshit detector goes mental every time wranglered posts. A man with a separate agenda for whatever reason.

clashcityrocker wrote:Why, when D2D goes into workload, would you still expect a separate payment for it?
D2D into workload has been union policy for donkey's years. They have finally achieved it and then the braying starts.
I met a postie from a different office recently. On Tuesday he had 23kg of mail to deliver. I had approx 55kg. How is it fair we were paid the same daily wage? I delivered over twice as much mail as him.
My guess is the wealthier the area you deliver in. the more D2D items you get. Therefore our wages are already something of a postcode lottery. Is that fair?
If it could be shown that the total of D2D payments has now been shared equally amongst posties across the country wouldn't that be a fairer system? I think it's called wealth distribution and having bleated about it since the release of "White Man in the Hammersmith Palais" I think this is the first time I have actually seen it in action.
Royal Mail now has to make the product grow. There is no guarantee they will manage to do that because the quality of our service is poor. The quality is poor because no-one takes D2D seriously because it is a separate part of our workload. Not any more. And why would anyone want to pay for advertising that everyone knows just goes straight in the bin?
And under the current system what would happen if you went off sick for 4 months? You'd get f**k all. Now at least you know what will be in your wages 52 weeks/year.
And if the average postie gets £30 - a 30 hr contract will lose £15/week assuming they are not in reciept of ESA.
A long standing full-timer loses £10 on D2D and £12 ESA = £22. How is that worse for the p/t?
Obviously there will be winners and losers but I wouldn't assume that everyone will lose under this system.
And although many posters have said what they will lose - what happens when we move to park and loop? They may well have less to deliver anyway when/if they change rounds? And how does it work in park and loop? Do you count individually how many you deliver or do you total them and share it between you?

Well the company line and union line is that they've already had to turn D2D work away, so I'd say there's already no doubt that they're going to be on the increase.
To the tune of 40 million by RMs account - so where is our share of that? Not only are we losing money but we are not getting any commitment to share any profits. Anyone advocating this as a good deal needs psychiatric help. Even the usual union wannabes are keeping a very very very low profile.

CCRs what ifs and maybes don't cut any ice with me - it isn't about what if - it's about what IS.

No-one is advocating it is a good deal.It isn't and was never going to be.Anyone who thought it was is in need of psychiatric help.
All I am trying to point out is it might be an acceptable deal to some and why.
Lots voted yes in 2007 and I bet very few of them posted on here.
