As I read it that £8 is just replacing the first £8 of any PBS/ICS supplement you already get. But the PBS/ICS supplement is pensionable, while this £8 isn't. So you will be losing £200-£300 a year on a full pension - and you think getting £75 is good compensation for this do you? My PBS/ICS supplement is just over £1 a week, assuming i do 40 years, thats put it down to £31.20 a year on a full pension v £8 a week for the next 35 years til i retire. (plus the £75 sweetener).
I was just trying to look at the draft agreement on the CWU website again, but couldn't access it - probably too
many people logging on to it currently.
But I don't know if you would get the full £8 supplement if your current PBS/ICS supplement is only £1 per week.
You might be right, but I got the impression that it was to replace the first £8 of the PBS/ICS supplement.
I'll have to check that when I can access the draft agreement again.

Add: OK I read the bit about the £8 again on one of the other threads, and you are correct - any MC with a PBS/ICS supplement of less than £8 will have the new £8 supplement made up from the ESOS pool (whatever that is).

Yeah the MCs certainly were shafted by the Way Forward. But I certainly won't be voting for this Agreement either.

I don't think the Delivery people voted massively for the Way Forward.
IIRC it was only carried (quite narrowly) by about 1,200 votes - on the second vote.

As far as I can make out the delivery boys are getting well shafted.
UP TO 7 D2D up from 3
NO MAX DELIVERY SPAN
3PM FINISHES ON SAT'S
NO EARLY SHIFT ALLOWANCE
and when the DO goes 100% walksorted you will see more walks amalgamating thus making the £20.60 d2d payment even worse
can someone tell me is there any truth to the rumour that all the d2d are going to be in one envelope?i find this very hard to believe .they dont even like you putting d2d inside each other just now.
Doing my rounds dropping off to DO'S I can assure you every postie I have spoke to is peed off.

D2D customers wouldn't accept their leaflets in one envelope because the public would just throw the lot without a thought for whats inside!

Just remember everyone who has a vote does not work in deliveries..
most of your yes votes will come from Mail centres / distribution etc..
Thats true but every delivery officer should vote NO!!Im a rep and i will advise a no vote in my office.Hope the rest do the same.

all those saying this is a great deal for mail center workers might want to think about the huge job losses that will come from the mail center closures because of this deal

a £400 lump sum might not go very far once you haven't got a job!

seriously all RM workers need to stick together on this and vote NO!

The crafty thing reading the agreement is you wont. You will be doing them for free the £8 is a result of a new allowance called delivery supplement (this is so that they can pay it to drivers, indoor staff etc) and loosing D2D payments and shift allowance.

As they say the devil is in the detail.

no compulsory redunancies is part of the deal - another reason to vote YES
Why - they already operate under the no compulsory redundancies and we have seen how that operates in the North West MCs. Your in essence voting to accept something you already have just like with the various lump sum payments.

Again the devils in the detail.

read the detail of the 2007 pay and modernisation agreement.... it states that the early shift allowance will cease on the implementation of pay restructuring - which is what this is, robbing peter to pay paul, but it's there in black and white i'm afraid, and the membership voted it in.
