This deal is even worse than I thought!!
Why did I think it would be any different than the last load of crap with it's flexibility bollox etc.
But the management know that the media will pounce on us when we reject this deal(can't see what idiot would vote for it)
You can see the headlines now----

Greedy posties reject a good deal from management again!!
Posties were offered lump sum payments, shorter working week, blah blah!
The public will think we are the lowest form of life!!
They know what they are doing and they will always be safe as the 'good guys' in public opinion.

Take away early allowance and make us do whatever number of D2D's for 8 quid.
Lump sums that will lure the greedy and gullible.
Agree to IWT and geo-route (proved to be flawed)

if you work in a mail centre, you get a £400 lump sum, a 2% pay rise, an £8 a week supplement, and an additional £75 when this comes in - not to mention the ability to keep your full time hours, the prospect of a shorter working week, another weeks paternity leave, and bonuses from colleagueshare money that your union rep has been telling you all along were worthless........hmmmmmm?

As I read it that £8 is just replacing the first £8 of any PBS/ICS supplement you already get. But the PBS/ICS supplement is pensionable, while this £8 isn't. So you will be losing £200-£300 a year on a full pension - and you think getting £75 is good compensation for this do you?

And the dividend from the 'Colleague Shares' is being used to bribe you to accept all this. It seems the amount will be a total of £1,000 (pro-rata for PT). I seem to remember being told that the Colleague Shares would be worth over £5,000 when they
were due to be cashed in, in 2012. So although they might not be worthless (and my Union Reps never said that) they
will be worth far less than RM originally indicated.

I never suggested it was new money - but if you read the colleagueshare bumf closely enough it talks about 'aiming' to pay the money, and that they 'could' by worth £xxxx. This £400 will be here next month if agreed.

Lardy boy makes some good points, not least that the mail centres were certainly shafted under the way forward, I think many in the MCs and spdos will be voting yes
