longer and later Saturdays BUT fewer of them it says. If you can get down to getting 1 in 4 or even 1 in 3 off rather than 1 in 6 then that's got to be better than now. Then you need to make sure you take annual leave weeks when you're supposed to be in on a Saturday, a few odd leave days and maybe a swap or 2 and it may work out not too bad.

As for longer Saturdays, with a 39 hour week, where are they going to get the extra time from?
and with d2d in workload which should make your delivery smaller on Pegasus then there's very little room for them to manoeuvre.
It says d2d can be done on Saturdays now, plan it in (and the time), but deliver on another day,
got to be creative!

If I get more saturdays off, say 1 in 3, then I am happy to work til 3pm on the saturdays when I am at work, although probably not if it means doing extra long deliveries to compensate.

4 day weeks will give you that,it's worth doing a longer delivery as well, before exec act at my place we done 4hrs,the way the days off work it's not a killer.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

According to this agreement though all delivery spans will be defined as being first to last letter POSTMAN so in theory at least your idea of a 4hr delivery may not be the same as Royal Mail's. :hmmmm

If the new machines are going to sort the mail quicker why do we need to work later?

If there are going to be large job losses if or when this agreement is ratified, why dont we go for a Mon-Fri? Job losses will arise from both options but i would rather work Mon-Fri. Sheduled attendances for Priority mail would cover the premier service. Collections could be done Sat & Sun then taken to the new machinery to be sorted for the monday. Equal amounts of Dow stream access mail could be fed into the deliveries daily giving staff a balanced workload daily. It is not rocket science chaps. Regards to all.
WTF. Rational, logical thinking has no place in RM. What are you doing? You will have to leave if you carry on using so much common sense.
I can tell that you are def not a manager.Too sensible.

Gotta go for 4 day week and get more Saturdays off if this comes in. Only way to balance things out for us.
