The 1 Saturday in four is optional,so does that mean that those who don't want to do it or can't do it will remain as we are now.If so where would those who opt out of this stand as in covering the Saturdays if they are working a normal 8hr shift?
I dont believe the 1 in 4 will be "optional"

"Royal Mail and CWU commit to achieving at least 1 in 4 Saturdays off for the majority of employees (including reserves) during the roll out of the operational transformation programme."

So basically most duties will be 1/4 satrudays off. There may be a few duties that do have the option such as locker duties or maybe some indoor jobs but I think in the main itll be 1/4 saturdays.

Isn't the word optional in the so called agreement?Wouldn't that mean that you would be working 39hrs over 4 days.So that would be about 10hrs a day.
STUFF THAT!!! I've got enough on trying to last the 8hrs at the god forsaken place.
Some of us have got a life outside of work, or should I say most of us and I intend to keep it that way.
THANKS BUT NOTHANKS!!!

I would say it saves about 15 mins prep time, but you also get your mail a bit quicker all the boxes are clearly labelled so you can take them straight round to the frames, instead of having coded bundles which you have to sort into the ips or take round to each frame

Out of interest mate how much time since the sequencing has been introduced do you save prepping.

Our DIM has told us that the trials have shown that the wsm have only saved 19 minutes prep per duty
so once you prep the d2d's status quo is reached ?
